Gregory Max Stiver, 62, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at DuBois Penn Highlands. He was born in Punxsutawney on June 19, 1960, a son of Harry Max "Mick" Stiver and late Alice Mae (Bodenhorn) Stiver. His father survives and resides in Coolspring. Greg was a 1978 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. He also graduated from Clarion University. On May 28, 2011, he married his sweetheart, Bridget Michelle Stark. She survives and resides in Punxsutawney. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney. He served the Lord and his fellow man as a United Methodist Minister for the past twenty-six years. He lived his life by example, his care and loving attitude toward others displayed his passion for the ministry. He always considered everyone he met to be a friend, and he never met a stranger. Being with his family, particularly his grandchildren, brought him so much joy. His family meant the world to Greg. He was a talented pencil drawing artist and has drawn many local churches and buildings of the area. In his free time, he liked to watch Steelers Football. In addition to his father and his wife, Bridget, he is survived by five children; Ashley Domres and husband Ryan of Brookville, Crystal Mock and husband Justin of Punxsutawney, Molly Barlow of Baltimore, Maryland, Gregory "Bo" Stiver II and wife Bobbi Sue of Punxsutawney and Daniel Stark and fiance Chassidi Knox of Confluence, PA; six grandchildren, Caitlin and Roxann Domres, Rylee and Wyatt Mock, Brooklyn and Aubree Stiver; one sister, Becky Peterman and husband Jerrad of Harrison City; two brother, Daniel Stiver and wife Sue of Coolspring and Oren "Butch" Stiver and Ranee Hicks of Homer City. Friends will be received from 11 a. m. until 4 p. m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. , Punxsutawney.
