She is survived by her loving children: Rolando (Marlene) Quilaton, Maria (John) Guzmir Peace, Rosario (Jose) Del Valle, Susan (George) Miran, and Maria Elena (Rhoel) Lomahan. Siblings: Felicita De leon and Teresita Miranda. Grandchildren Kenneth, Michael, Maria (Daniel), Christine, Sarah, John, David, Jeremy, Abby Rose, Lilly Rae, Sarah (Ramon), Rebekah, Joshua, and Mary. Great Grandchildren: Yazmin, Anastasia, and Theodon. Lorenza was born in Nueva Ecija, north of Manila, Philippines. She was the third born of seven siblings, with her four sisters and two brothers. She grew up during World War II during the Japanese occupation. She followed after her husband and came to Chicago in 1972, later also joined by her 5 children. She worked three jobs simultaneously, in Central Supply in the hospital, caregiving the elderly, and was resourceful as a business woman also owning several properties. Robert James Dorencz, February 22, 2024. Longtime resident of the Southwest Side of Chicago. Beloved husband of Karen A. (nee Cassidy) Dorencz and cherished father of Robert T. Dorencz. Robert was a devoted brother of Janet (Jim) Sebastian, Mickey (Diane) Dorencz, Theresa (Scott) Dobry and the late John (Jody) Dorencz. He was a fond brother in law of James (Toni) Carlo, Jackie (Joe) DeStefano, Kevin (Elizabeth) Cassidy, Patty (Hurley) Wilbourne and Dennis (Gloria Bonilla) Cassidy. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Joann (nee Flynn) Dorencz. Bobby was a life long Chicago White Sox Fan, he loved all sports and enjoyed watching them on TV. He was a great “da-da” to all his pups. Bobby was a homebody, but from time to time you could find him on the golf course with his friends and family. He loved watching TV, and started most mornings with the “Price is Right” show. Mash was an all time favorite, and didn’t mind watching the reruns, and you could hear him laughing from some old episodes of the Three Stooges. Bobby worked as a roofer for over 30 years, and the last 15 of his work career he was a truck driver for his family's company. Bobby would enjoy putting his feet up with a ice cold can of Old Style in his hands. Above all, family meant the world to him, especially his son Robert, who has been a pillar of strength along with his mom during his dad’s illness. Bobby was a devoted, fun loving uncle, cousin and friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at Central Chapel 6158 S. Central, Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service 7 p.m. at Funeral. Cremation following in accordance with Bobby’s wishes.
