Gordon G. Sanders, age 81 of Piedmont, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born February 17, 1942 in Garwood, MO, the son Winfred Sanders and Bryce (Vineyard) Sanders. Gordon worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Operators Engineer Local # 513 in St. Louis. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. He was a member and Chaplain of the Piedmont American Legion Post #281, Wayne Masonic Lodge # 526 and Piedmont Eagles Club. Gordon was married to Carolyn Shielly March 4, 1967 at Piedmont and was a charter member of Harvest Baptist Church in Piedmont. Preceding him in death are his parents, Winfred and Bryce Sanders, his son, Joseph Sanders, his infant brother, Larry Dale Sanders and his sister, Shirley Slevin. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Sanders, of the home, his daughter, Debbie Pennington and her husband Terry, of Poplar Bluff, his sister, Betty Lou Hughes, of Cedar Hill, MO, 2 grandchildren, Heather Hochmuth and her husband D. J. , of Jackson, MO, Ryan Pennington and his wife Stephanie, of Poplar Bluff, 6 great grandchildren, Grayson and Josie Hochmuth, Miller, Jude, Ellie and Norah Pennington, and many other family and friends. Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Pete Ruble officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Yount Memorial Cemetery in Garwood. Margaret Helen Ward 90, passed away very peacefully Sunday November 19, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born February 19, 1933 to Helen and Pearl Shoemake from Silva, MO. Margaret and her late husband Alfred Ward were married on May 1, 1950 in Piggott, AR. They were formerly from Patterson, MO. Several years ago, they moved to Arnold, MO. Margaret was a member of the Bethesda General Baptist Church of Imperial, MO since 1968. She shared her faith with everyone she met. She loved singing "O How I Love Jesus" and "Jesus Loves Me" and would always say AMEN at the end of the song. In later years when Margaret could not get out to church, she got up at 5:00 AM on Sunday Morning to watch her favorite preacher, Charles Stanley. Margaret was a preschool teacher before retiring. Many of her students would see her years later and would always be so excited to see Miss Margaret. One of her favorite sayings was GOODY GOODY GUMDROPS. Margaret said, "I LOVE YOU" to everyone. She always made everyone smile and they would say that she was such a joy to be around. Preceding her in death are his parents, Pearl and Helen Shoemake, 2 brothers, James and Pearl, Jr. , and one sister, Betty Aubuchon. Survivors include three children, Francis McFadden and her husband Alvin, of Terre Haute, IN, Fred Ward and his wife Cathy, of Farmington, MO, Farris Ward, of Arnold, MO, one sister, Jewell Harris, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 24th at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Billy T. Carroll, 82, of Columbia, MO, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, at University Hospital, Columbia, MO. He was born in Piedmont, July 3, 1941, to parents James Robert and Rebecca Tennessee (Moore) Carroll. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He attended Patterson and Damon School districts. Bill enlisted in the Army and proudly served three years, during that time, he was deployed to Italy. He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. He married his best friend, Margaret Sweaney on August 10, 2007. Bill was a logger and hauled logs. Bill enjoyed making desserts and baking cakes for others. He loved to joke and make people smile. He also enjoyed working on his equipment. Bill was a good man and provider for his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Clarence T. Bearden Jr. , Bobby Carroll; sister: Martha Taylor. Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend of sixteen years; children: David Carroll of NE, Christy Littlejohn of Ashland, Cathy Sweaney-Chand of Seaside, CA, Samantha Joers and husband Joshua of Ashland; grandchildren: Dylin Carroll, Lindsey and McKaylah Littlejohn, RJ, and Ajia Chand, Landon, Lexi, and Phoebe Joers; great-grandchild: Naomi; many cousins and friends. Terry Michael "Mike" Moore, age 64, of Piedmont, MO passed peacefully from this life to the next on Friday, October 20, 2023. He was born November 18, 1958, in St. Louis, MO, to Wilson and Thelma (Waltman) Moore. He is survived by daughter, Rebecca Strait, from his first marriage to Leta (Abbott) Davis, and daughter, Kayla Anderson, as well as four grandchildren, Elena and Trenton Strait and Kaden and Isaiah Anderson; two brothers: Kenneth Stepp and Robert Moore, both of Enterprise, Alabama; nieces, Nicky Buchana, Cathy Lisk, Robin Moore, DeeAnn Bauguss, Dana Stepp, Christina Stepp, and Angelique Love; nephews: Terry Stepp, Jason Stepp, Hershey Stepp, Stanley Stepp, Steve Stepp, Rusty Moore, Kevin Moore, Craig Moore, Gary Moore and many more great nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Moore; his father, Wilson Moore; his two siblings: Sue Graddy Moore Stepp and Ronald Stepp; and many aunts and uncles from the Waltman and Moore sides. Mike was a Navy Veteran and an electrician by trade. He was a great musician in his time, playing the guitar and harmonica. The family would sit around the fire playing, singing, and drinking, having a good time. Those are some of our best memories of him, along with enjoying the Missouri countryside together, whether splashing and playing in the clear water creeks, taking a scenic drive, or stargazing into the night. Terry would give anyone the shirt off his back. Terry always loved with his whole heart. He always looked after his mother and was very saddened when she passed. He waited for the time that he would see her once again in heaven. Michael was a believer in Jesus Christ and knew the word of God.
