Born on June 10, 1937, in Washington, GA, to the late Frank Turner Sr. and Mamie Turner (Cox), Martha's legacy is one of unwavering love, devotion, and kindness. Martha was a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Washington, GA, where her faith was nurtured and strengthened. Her early years in Georgia were marked by a deep connection to family, being the eldest of seven siblings. After relocating to Newark, NJ, Martha attended and graduated from Girls Vocational High School, laying the foundation for a life filled with love and accomplishment. Martha was united in matrimony with her departed husband, Willie "Duke" Salters, creating a partnership built on love and mutual respect. She cherished her role as a loving wife, and together they created a home filled with laughter, love, and beloved memories. Martha and Willie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending precious moments together, and exploring the world through their travels. Professionally, Martha dedicated many years to an exclusive clothing boutique, where her passion for fashion and style shone brightly. Her commitment to excellence extended beyond the workplace, as she poured her heart into creating delicious meals and desserts for family and friends. Martha's culinary talents were legendary, and her kitchen was a place of joy and fellowship. A voracious reader, Martha found solace and joy in the pages of countless books.
