Larry Neel

Age - 118

October 30, 2023

Larry Dean Neel was born on September 18, 1957 to Alvy and Ollie Neel, and passed at his home in Haworth, OK on October 25, 2023. He was married on April 12th, 1980 to Terry Lawrence of Harris, OK, and had a son Ricky Joe Neel in November of 1981. Larry was a dedicated father, family man, and friend to all. Larry was a well-respected woodsman, mechanic, and mentor to many young men and women. He spent many dedicated years cutting, skidding, and processing wood across Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. He repaired countless things for countless people and was most at home under the hood of his little red Toyota. He helped raise and entire generation of young adults in Haworth with knowledge, strong work ethics, and kindness for your fellow man. An avid fisherman and prospector during his free time, he could often be caught buying bait at Stanley's in Matagorda, TX or digging in a random creek with his gold pan. Although he never struck it rich, the stories he told were worth all the gold that can be found. His greatest joy was playing and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Ashley Neel of Tulsa, OK and three grandchildren, Anna, Wyatt, and Paige Neel. His brothers Carl and Jackie Neel, and Sisters Sue Russell, Judy Aldridge, and Pamela Simpson. A good number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and more friends than anyone would care to count. Larry will be remembered fondly for many different reasons by many different people, and his influence will forever live on in the lessons he taught. May he rest in peace.Show more
