Glenna Edna Freeman, age 96, of Newaygo, formerly of Kent City, passed away on February 11, 2019 in Newaygo. She was born on August 26, 1922 to Delva and Edna (Cross) Allen in Grand Rapids. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1940. On December 12, 1950 she married Norman Freeman in Kent City, Michigan and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1992. Glenna was a Fruit and Dairy Farmer with her husband. She was a member of Kent City Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Alpha Family Center, Cedar Springs. Glenna is survived by her daughter Judith Anne Ford of Kent City; six grandsons: Jeff (Lorraine) Wellman, John (Tari) Wellman, Donald (Renee) Wellman, Michael Wellman, Mark Johnson, Brian (Shannon) Johnson; son-in-law Donald (Connie) Wellman of Kent City; two granddaughters: Debra Lynn (Tony) Wyant of Twin Lake, Toni (Thomas) Nolff of Kent City; many-many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and her dear friend Norma Hienike. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters, and daughter Karen Wellman. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with the celebration of life service at 1:00 pm at the Kent City Baptist Church, Kent City, Michigan, with Pastor Ken VanderWest officiating. Interment will be in the Chubbuck-Pinewood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Spectrum Health Hospice or Kent City Baptist Church Children's Programs.
