Glenn Silas Thornton, 69 of Arabi, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at his residence. Born in Surrency, GA, he was the son of the late Ellave Dixon Brewer and the step-son of William "Papa" Brewer, Sr. Glenn was the greens-keeper for Spring Hill Country Club in Tifton for over 20 years and was a retired small engine mechanic. "Pop" as he was affectionately known was an avid fisherman and a huge fan of the Oakland Raiders. He loved his family and always enjoyed his time with them. He was the father of two but "Pop" to all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his two sons and their wives, Glenn and Carmen Thornton of Gainesville, FL and Donny and Amanda Thornton of Vienna; two brothers, William "Bubba" Brewer and his wife, Connie of Griffin and Gary Brewer of Tifton; a sister and her husband, Daphne and Tommy Kegebein of Tifton; three grandchildren, Arianna Thornton of Gainesville and Elizabeth Grace Thornton and Emma Ray Thornton, both of Moultrie; and his dear niece and caregiver, Stacy Blount.
