Glenn Kearney, 69, of Old Epsom Road passed away on September 8, 2023, at Maria Parham Health. He was born in Warren County to Corine Bullock Kearney and the late George Edward Kearney. A service will be held at 11am, Monday, September 18, 2023, at Holy Temple. A viewing will be held from 12pm-3pm, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Delores L. Kearney; his children, Demeatria Kearney and Deonte Kearney Sr. ; his mother, Corine Kearney; his siblings, Barbara Alston, Delores Bullock, Carolyn Kearney, Jackie Kearney, Connie Kearney, Christine Kearney, Tracey Taylor, Tammie Sidney, Cliston Kearney and Tony Kearney; 3 Grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

ObituarySylvester Theodore Marshall, 81, transitioned from this life on December 3, 2023 in Henderson, North Carolina. He was better known as "Frog". He was born in Charlotte County, Virginia on December 31, 1941 to the late Willie A Marshall and Marjorie Evans Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older sister Aretha Marshall, his nephew Marvin Marshall, and his devoted first wife of forty-three years, Bertha Lee Marshall. At an early age, Sylvester was baptized and joined Nazareth Baptist Church. He attended schools in Charlotte County, graduating from Central High School in 1960. He moved to New Jersey where he worked various jobs, before dutifully serving in the US Army. He was honorably discharged, earning medals and badges, including National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and a Sharpshooter Badge. Sylvester met and married his first wife, Bertha Lee Webster and had one daughter. He worked his way up the ranks at United Parcel Services, retiring as a supervisor after many decades of employment. Sylvester enjoyed his retirement, moving back home to Virginia. He was an active Church member and served as a former Trustee and as a member on the Men's Committee. He remained a faithful member of the congregation. Sylvester found love again when he met and married his second wife, Delores Brown Noel and joined her family. He was a very positive person who took care of things that needed to be done. He loved hunting, fishing, owning multiple cars, having cookouts, discussing politics and sports, going to the casino, and playing the lottery. He enjoyed socializing with friends and family, telling stories about his life. He was always there to provide support with whatever anyone needed. He was a very devoted, supportive, and generous person to his family and friends. Sylvester leaves behind a loving wife of over ten years, Delores Noel Marshall of Henderson, NC; a caring daughter Jacinda Marshall (Donna) of San Francisco, CA; a devoted sister Ruth Marshall of Brookneal, VA; a loyal brother William Marshall (Doris) of Nathalie, VA; five step-children: Valerie Burney (Ted) of Henderson, NC, Artie Noel (Debbie) of NJ, Delores Yvette Noel (Larry) of Henderson, NC, Jeanette Noel (Dawud) of Creedmoor, NC, and Lamont Noel (Lorelei) of Henderson, NC; nine step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren; one aunt Isabel Evans of Charlotte Court House, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who all cherished their time with him. Mr. Davis transitioned on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson, North Carolina. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1:00 p. m. in the sanctuary of Coley Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Warrenton, North Carolina. The Reverend Carson F. Jones, Jr. , Pastor will officiate and Reverend Kathard Marks will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery in Warrenton, North Carolina. Mr. Marion Edward Lewis, 60, of Henderson, NC entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in Clarksville, VA. Mr. Lewis was born in Halifax County, VA on April 28, 1963 to Fannie E. Hawkins and the late June John (Ducky) Lewis, Jr. He was a graduate of Vance Senior High in Henderson, NC and furthered his education at Vance Granville and Southside VA Community College. Mr. Lewis was a member of Mount Zion United Church of Christ in Henderson, NC. He was the owner of Lewis Bail Bonding, LLC, and was a professional bondsman. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, riding horses, bull riding, and talking with family and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Lewis; niece, Abria Lewis, and nephew, Joshua Chase Lewis. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Trymiko L. Terry-Lewis; two sons, Trenton Eaton (Rosa) of Gaithersburg, MD and Jason L. Lewis (Shikena) of Henderson, NC; daughter, Dominique Lewis of Henderson, NC; eight grandchildren; his mother, Fannie E. Hawkins; two brothers, Christopher Lewis of Raleigh, NC and June Lewis, III (Ayana) of Kittrell, NC, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Marion Edward Lewis will be conducted 1:00 P. M. Friday, December 1, 2023 at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, Henderson, NC with Rev. Andy Hargrove officiating. James (Jim) Marshall Spain, 61, of Henderson, NC, passed away on November 8, 2023, at Beacon Place in Greensboro, NC. Jim was born on February 12, 1962, in Henderson, NC, to the late Robert W. Spain, Sr. and Pearl (Moody) Spain. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Kandee L. (Berger) Spain, his daughter Kelsey, his son Joshua, and his brothers Tom (Jane) and John (Linda), and sister Linda, sister-in-law Lavetta, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert W. Spain, Jr. During his formative years, Jim grew up on a farm, instilling in him a deep appreciation for hard work. He graduated from Vance Senior High School in 1980 and earned a B. S. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University in 1986. Jim worked for EDS, Food Lion, Wendover Funding and Guilford Mills in the past. He was a dedicated IT Engineer at TempurSealy at his time of death. A man of faith, Jim worshipped at Fellowship Presbyterian Church where he found solace and strength. He actively participated in the Session of the church and several committees over the years. Outside of his religious involvement, Jim had a passion for the Boy Scouts of America. He was active in the organization for many years, mentoring and guiding young boys to become responsible and honorable individuals. Jim will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his faith, and his commitment to serving others. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Place for their kindness and loving care. A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will be held 2:00 p. m. on Friday, December 1 at Fellowship Presbyterian Church, located at 2005 New Garden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410. Reception to follow.
