Glendon Becker Obituary

Glendon Eugene (Butch) Becker, age 74, of Argos, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in Sebring, FL. He was born January 28, 1949 in Warsaw, IN as the second of three children to Richard William and Roma Frances (Van Dorn) Becker. On April 18, 1970, he married Jeanette Houin in Plymouth, IN at St. Michael's Catholic Church. He worked as a Construction Superintendent until his retirement in 2009 and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 413 in South Bend, IN where he received his 50-year pin. He has been a winter resident of Sebring since 2015, coming from Argos, Indiana, and was a member of the American Legion Post 69, the Moose Lodge, and the Elks Lodge. Butch always had a zest for life, enjoying any time he had family and friends. He always loved attending and participating in his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and other artistic and athletic performances. Butch was always available whenever anyone needed help and loved assisting with his building knowledge. He enjoyed sharing his cooking skills for family and friends, whether it was roasting hogs or creating dinners for family get togethers, you could always count on being well fed when he was cooking. During his retirement years, he enjoyed fishing and golfing when he could, especially when he could share that time with his grandchildren. Butch will be sincerely missed and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanette Houin Becker of Argos, IN; one daughter, Gina Terrone (Brandon) of Indianapolis, IN; four sons, Kirk Becker (Nicole) of Gainesville, FL; Mark Becker (Cassandra Masterson) of Plymouth, IN; Eric Becker (Sarah) of Plymouth IN; Nick Becker (Heather) Apollo Beach, FL; and one sister, Darlene Becker of Plymouth, IN along with 19 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and brother Bill. A Celebration of Life is planned at a later date in Indiana. Condolences should be sent to the Argos home at 8460 14th Rd.
