Glenda Harrison, a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, honorary mother, and friend to many passed away in Granbury on October 1, 2023. She was 89 years old. Glenda was born in Midlothian, Texas on June 29, 1934. She was the oldest sister of eight siblings. She met Jerry, the love of her life, while waiting for a streetcar in Oak Cliff, were married 5 weeks later, and were blessed to celebrate over 71 years of marriage. As a young woman she worked for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company between staying home to raise children. She later returned as supervisor of its new credit center in Irving and retired as credit center manager. Mentor, gracious, beautiful, elegant, angel, and loving are only some of the words those that knew her would say to describe her. She always provided a comforting landing spot with the touch of her warm hands but could also dish a dose of fierce confidence within her advisement when needed. During iced tea or coffee time, she could be found indulging in computer games (mahjong or solitaire) or reading bible study materiel in a quiet spot on the couch. She knew how to "push" dance from her youth and enjoyed oil and toll painting. She loved spending time with family preparing holiday meals or treats and was the best to go shopping with as she would never discourage you from buying the thing that you liked the most. She was fun-loving and enjoyed any opportunity to dine out or grab a cafe mocha at Starbucks. Glenda was preceded in death by her son, Jerry. She is survived by her devoted husband, Aubrey Gerald "Jerry" Harrison, and their daughters Sherry Harrison, Annette Harrison, and Emily Gvozdenovic, grandchildren Ashley Harrison, Melody Harrison, Miranda Harrison, Malcolm Gvozdenovic and Declan Gvozdenovic, great-grandchildren Lily Thomas, Rock Thomas, and Lyla Powers.
