Glenda "Kaye" (Stidham) Brown, 74, was born on July 8th 1949 in Pottersfork, KY. to the late Britton and Callie (Collins) Stidham. She passed away September 10, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Kaye was a long-time member of Haymond Freewill Baptist church and served her community as a beautician for over 40 years. She spent many years as a member of the ladies' auxiliary and volunteering at God's Country Closet second hand store. She was a White Shrine member and a champion Scrabble player who loved crossword and wordsearch puzzles, sewing, and collecting buttons. She is survived by a daughter Melissa (Duane) Dollarhide; grandsons Corey (Ashley) Dollarhide, and Dalton (Kelsie) Dollarhide; Great granddaughters Addison, and Raelia. A sister Faye (Pete) Powell and numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to mourn her passing. Kaye is proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Madonna Kaye, five brothers and one sister. Funeral: 1:00 o'clock P. M. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the Haymond Freewill Baptist Church with Danny Mullins and Jimmy Johnson officiating. Visitation: 6'olock P. M. Monday, September 11, 2023 and 6 o'clock P. M. Tuesday, September 12th. Burial will follow in the Thornton Cemetaty, Thornton, KY

Benjamin Dee Smith, son of the late William Douglas and Martha Jane Baker Smith was born in Detroit, Michigan, June 1, 1956. He entered eternal life Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital at Whitesburg, Kentucky being 67 years, 5 months and 27 days of age at the time of his passing. Benjamin was married to Dana Lynn Sexton Smith, February 14, 1980. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. Benjamin was a veteran serving in the United States Army in the 237 Engineer Battalion he entered into service in 1976 having served 2 years, 7 months of Foreign Service upon discharge he had achieved the rank of Spec. 4. Ben was a beloved member of the Vicco Lodge F. & AM. #929 for 22 years, where he became Master in 2005, 32nd Degree Scottish Rites Southern Jurisdiction, York Rites #160 Jackson, Kentucky and a proud member of EL HASA Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife Dana Lynn Smith of Jeremiah, Kentucky. Two sons; Benjamin (Virginia) Smith Jr. of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Travis Austin Douglas (Amber) Smith of Fisty, Kentucky. One daughter, Elizabeth Deanna (Steven) Smith of Hallie, Kentucky. One brother, William Douglas (Dina) Smith Jr. of California. Two sisters; Cheryl (Ed) Banks of Letcher, Kentucky and Pamela Smith of Jeremiah, Kentucky. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Maggie, Audrey, Sadie, Stetson, and Kelli. Three special Aunts; Anna Lou Blair, Mollie Caudill and Mary Jo Blair. Caregivers; Bridget Eldridge, Kristen Kit Isaac, Amanda Adams, Katie, Caiden, Zach Isaac, Darlene Holbrook and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Peggy Ann Vanover's family circle is no longer broken, as she was reunited with her husband, Jay, and son, "Little" Jay, on December 3, 2023. P eggy was born on January 21, 1949, to Ruth Craft Taylor (deceased) and Eugene "Doc" Taylor (deceased). Peggy was 74 years old. Peggy was led to the Lord by her son, Little Jay, whose steadfast relationship with God inspired many. She was baptized by her Uncle Bill and was a member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. Peggy's hobbies included quilting, crocheting, and yard sales. But what she cherished most was caring for her family. Peggy was known and respected by the healthcare community for her capable care of Little Jay's needs. She fearlessly tackled home dialysis, visually impaired guidance, and patient advocacy. Peggy considered herself an honorary Mammaw to Walker and Tori Isaacs. Her love included two special nephews, Aidan and Sam Adams, and neighbors whom she regarded as extended family: Liz and Mike Williams. In addition to her husband, Jay, and son, Arlie Jay, Peggy was also proceeded in death by three brothers, Carl Junior Polly, Jimmy Taylor, and Donnie Taylor, two sisters, Altia Taylor and Alpha Miller, one sister-in-law, Rosetta Polly, and her beloved nephew, Billy "Keith" Adams. Peggy is survived by her sisters, who were her best friends: Connie (Bill) Adams, Susie (Jeff) Hart, Loretta Taylor, and Kathy (Danny) Bentley, as well as two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law whom she cherished, Judy Taylor, Sheila Taylor, and Alvin Miller. Peggy will also be missed by a host of treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins.Show more
