Carmen Colmenero Ballesteros, a beloved domestic housewife and mother, passed away on December 1, 2023, in her hometown of Tucson. She was born on November 13, 1929, also in Tucson. Carmen's passing has left her family and friends in deep sorrow as they reflect on the remarkable life she led. Carmen was a woman of great strength, courage, and honesty. Her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly raising not only her own family but also all her siblings. She took on the responsibility of caring for her siblings with unwavering dedication and love. As a mother, Carmen's selflessness knew no bounds. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing her children and ensuring their well-being. Her dedication to motherhood was evident in the close bond she shared with her daughters Cecilia B. Marez, Priscilla B. Higuera, Hope Peralta, Lorie C. Ballesteros, and sons George Ballesteros and Rene Ballesteros. In addition to being a devoted mother, Carmen found solace in various hobbies. She had a passion for playing bingo and found great joy in the competitive spirit of the game. But perhaps what brought her the most happiness was giving money to her grandchildren. Carmen's generosity knew no bounds, and she took immense pleasure in being able to support and shower love upon her grandchildren. Carmen's legacy lives on through her extensive family tree that spans generations. She is survived by 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren who will forever cherish the memories created with their beloved matriarch. Carmen's caring nature extended beyond her immediate family as she maintained close relationships with her sisters Dolores Holguin, Irene Robles, and Isabel C. Estrella. Their bond was unbreakable as they leaned on each other for strength and support throughout the highs and lows of their lives. Those who were fortunate enough to have known Carmen will remember her gentle smile, warm embrace, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience and compassion that will continue to inspire future generations. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mark Stephen Strope, of Tucson, AZ, aged 69, passed away November 30 , 2023. Mark was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan, and attended St. Stanislaus Catholic school and church. Mark eventually moved to Memphis, TN where he met and married the love of his life, Terri. After retiring from the construction industry, they moved to Tucson AZ. He loved his home state of Michigan, his Michigan sports teams, the mountains in Arizona and was passionate for his beloved 'classic vinyl' rock and roll. Mark leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife Terri Strope, of Tucson; Sons Greg Strope and Brian Strope (Cody) of Bay City, Michigan; Daughter Angie Rudd of Horn Lake, MS; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He also leaves siblings Lee Strope (Cindy) of Dunedin, Fla; Sue Jacobs (Joe) of Munger, MI; Lynn Kalinowski (Dave) of Bay City, MI; Connie Kolka (Doug) of Midland, MI; Patrick Strope (Shelley) of Bay City, MI. He also leaves a huge host of much loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine and Lester Strope and a sister, Kathleen Strope. A memorial service to honor Mark will be on January 4, 2024 at 10am at St Stanislaus Church in Bay City, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children Hospital.Show more

After graduating from Douglas High School, he went on to have a very successful and adventurous business career in Spanish radio and television management and sales. The skills and experience acquired in this industry, along with his entrepreneurial mindset led him to establish his own successful business providing marketing and advertising consultative services to large companies in Arizona. Patricio was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Dominic Barraza. He is survived by his two children Roman and Karina, as well as brothers Francisco, Miguel and Mauricio Jr. He will be lovingly remembered for his incredible determination, strength and fighting spirit.
