He was born in Greencastle, Indiana on September 6, 1954, to Harold E and Anna Jean Tyler. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Teresa M Tyler (Lancaster), and his brother Michael L Tyler. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces. His mother, who was also friends with Teresa's parents, invited Teresa to visit them in Florida. Jim always felt his mom was playing matchmaker when she asked him to accompany Teresa to Walt Disney World. Disney seemed to work its magic that day because they saw literal fireworks with their first kiss. They would be married in a little over 5 months later. Jim always had a soft spot for his fur babies in his life. His most recent being his dogs Thor and Diana Prince. Jim treated each and every one as his children, even his former dog, Patch, who relieved gas in his face while sleeping in the middle of the night - forcing him awake coughing and spitting. Jim enjoyed cooking and later his passion became baking. He was a Certified Baker for Einstein Brother Bagels and later became a baker for Taylors' Bakery, where he retired. Anyone who knew Jim knew about his "Turtle Cheesecake", based on the chocolate and pecan candy. It took him years to perfect the recipe in his own eyes. Only one of his nephews even knows this trade secret. Jim enjoyed the country, relating to Charlie Daniel's song "Long Haired Country Boy". He would frequently visit family in Cloverdale, Indiana. He also greatly enjoyed vacationing with his wife in the Great Smoky Mountains. We will miss Jim, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
