Gerry Carlson, 76, passed away on February 20, 2024, with her family by her side. She was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a joy to be around, truly loved life and a lover of all animals. She was someone you could always count on and a force to be reckoned with. Gerry was in the banking industry for over 50 years, retiring from Key bank. Her work ethic was beyond impeccable.The family knew her as Ge or G. Money. Anyone who truly got to know her had a real friend at heart. Gerry was preceded in death by Beverly Sleva (mother) and Wilb Pearl (father). Gerry is survived by her brother Robert Pearl (Jeff), sister Stacy Rairdon (Gary), and brother Bryan Sleva (Debbie). She was the beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews, Zachary (Alysha), Sarah, Seth, and Sam. Gerry was also well loved by many cousins and friends.Gerry carried on the secret family potato salad recipe that family and friends looked forward to at every family gathering. Gerry especially will be remembered as a very giving person, having the biggest heart and her happy, sassy, and sometimes stubborn personality. Our world has truly lost a treasured soul who will be missed beyond belief. All our love to you Ge.A celebration of life will be planned for this summer. He was born April 9, 1964 in Elyria where he was a lifelong resident. Ted was a talented carpenter, and treasured spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and travel. Survivors include his children; James F., TJ. (Erica), Kadie J. all of Elyria. Additional survivors include four grandchildren; Ryley, Autumn, Theo, River, his mother; Mary Ellen Machovina (nee: Schmitz) of Grafton, two sisters; Judy L. Wakefield (Mark) of Grafton, Sharon M. Smith Patrick) of Mogadore, and a brother; Daniel F. of Elyria. Ted was preceded in death by his father; Gerald A. Colleen Rose Graven, age 62. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She was born on May 14, 1961, in Lakewood, Ohio to the late Richard J. Graven and Karen J. Roberson. Beloved sister of Russ Roberson (Deborah) of Melissa TX, Richelle Draper (Scot) of Mint Hill NC, Shannon Roberson of Mint Hill NC. The aunt of 3 nephews/nieces Christopher (Danijela), Rebecca (Adam), Josh (Kaci), and great-aunt of many nephews and nieces. Her uncle Rob (Jan) and cousin (Tim) reside in FL. Colleen was preceded by her loving grandparents (Glen/Electa Davis), parents (Karen/Kal Roberson) and uncle (Allen Davis). Colleen graduated from Gold Coast Christian School (FL) in 1979. She never married or had any children. Throughout the years, Colleen worked in the healthcare field as a medical receptionist and nurse's aide doing what she loved; caring for others. She loved everything about living in Ohio and was a long-time member of Broadview Baptist Church where she was actively involved prior to its closing. She continued to always have a heart for Jesus. Colleen was blessed to have such a great network of people in her life. Those closest to her throughout life's ups and downs were Patty, Sandy, Babs, and Joli. The family would like to say a special "Thank you" for always being there for her as well as the many others that continued to support and enrich her life each day. Colleen enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends; eating good food, and drinking her Pepsi. She even formed a friendship with Tony, the cabbie, who made those 'special' runs to bring her things she needed when she no longer could drive herself. Her communication skills weren't lacking, and she was good with the follow-up. Everyone that knew Colleen loved her. She was often referred to as an angel on earth and will always be remembered as sweet, funny, loving, caring, kind and a dreamer! She always thought of others before herself. She was a wonderful granddaughter, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend.? He was a loving father survived by his children, Ambur Joshi, Evelyn Carruth, Zachary Stephens, Jonny Stephens, Grace Stephens, Elijah Stephens, Gloria Stephens and Faith Stephens; sister, Tammy Ingrum as well as seven grandchildren. In life, Johnny was a man of many passions - an outdoors enthusiast, with a keen intellect, a collector of knives, a lover of literature, and an avid fan of the Grateful Dead. Johnny also ministered to the homeless community in his neighborhood and helped out at his church food pantry whenever he could.As we celebrate Johnny's life, we honor the memories he created and the impact he had on those around him. Terrie Lee Nash Peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Terrie was born January 5, 1953 to the late Hardy and Bessie Whit?eld. Terrie was educated in the Elyria Public System, and worked at her parent’s grocery store, Middle Avenue Food Market. She later had various work experiences until she became disabled. Terrie was the mother of three beloved children Sherese, Terry and Travis whom she adored and talked about all the time. Terrie’s early Christian walk began at Antioch Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was part of the youth group. She later attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Elyria. Terrie was free spirited, she loved to talk, laugh and have fun. She loved her daily walks at Elyria Square and sitting and talking with friends. She had a passion for dancing. She was sensitive, caring and strong willed as well as outspoken. Her personality touched all that knew her. She loved watching classic movies. She enjoyed having fun with her family and spending time with her friends. Terrie will be missed and our lives will be forever changed. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Terry Nash(Isiah), Travis Bowens. William (Bill) E. Peter, 94, of Elyria, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 18, 2024 at St. Mary’s of the Woods. He was born to John and Julia Peter on November 20, 1929 in Portage, Pennsylvania. Bill moved to Elyria with his family when he was a young child. He attended Elyria Schools and graduated from Elyria High School in 1948. He was employed by Fisher Foods Companies and retired after 47 years. He was very involved in the Magyar United Church of Christ, as the church elder, member of the consistory, and organizer of chicken paprikas and cabbage roll dinners. Upon the closure of his church, he joined Community of Faith UCC. Bill was an avid gardener, fisherman and camper. If he wasn’t working around his yard, you would find him spending time with his greatest joy; his family. He enjoyed vacationing every summer, going to his kids and grandkids sporting events, various school activities, or just picnicking in the backyard. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Sherrie (Riemer); his children Kim Latsa (Scott) of Orlando FL, Debbie Betts (N Ridgeville), and Dave (Avon); 6 grandchildren - Jacob, Regan, Madisyn, Ryah, Natalie and Alex; sisters-in-law Sylvia Peter and Joyce Peters; as well as many nieces and nephews. She then attended Mary Manse College in Toledo and before having children, enjoyed a career as an elementary school teacher in Cleveland and California.Jeannette loved being a homemaker and spending time with her husband and family, traveling, playing Jeopardy and having her family all together for parties and celebrations. She also had many hobbies including reading, art, fashion, decorating, cooking, gardening, music, and movies.She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Anna Kleinhenz (nee Steiner), and siblings James Kleinhenz and Sandra McCool.She is survived by her husband of 63 years, David Sr; 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild: Her daughter Michelle and her children with Frank, Christopher and his wife Heather and their daughter Rose, Steven and his wife Rachel. Robert L. Fox, 69, a resident of Elyria, passed away following a long illness on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his residence. He was born July 22, 1954, in Cleveland. Robert graduated from Collinwood High School in Cleveland in 1972. He was a journeyman carpenter for 10 years before starting his career as a postal clerk, where he worked for 32 years before retiring. Robert enjoyed carpentry drafting. His specialty was designing underground homes. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Clara Fox (nee Merrick); three children, Joshua M. Fox (Stephanie), Sarah C. Dorko (Ronald Edward Dorko), and Matthew David Fox (Anna nee Zudell); 16 grandchildren; and three nieces. Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Howard W. Fox (Judy), and his sister, Gloria Pasquale (nee Fox). The family welcomes friends to join them Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm for a memorial gathering, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.
