Ok, Ok, Vicky Lynn, Leslie Gean, Ilene Kay, David Watson, and Kristine Leone. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was a high priority in her life. Throughout her life she held and served with joy many church positions. She was an amazing primary teacher and Sunday school teacher throughout her life. She also held many leadership positions. She was Primary President twice and Relief society president twice. All while working at Miller’s Honey Co. and raising 5 children. She was busier then the Queen Bee in a hive. She started working at Millers Honey at the age of 14 and worked there part time in the beginning. As she started raising us kids she then transitioned very early on to full time and continued to work there until she was 82 years old, only retiring due to a stroke at 82. Shirley has touched and influenced countless hundreds of people in her life, in the church, and in the business world. She had many quotes that she would say. I call them Shirley-isms. Shirley-ism "There are no boys or girls jobs. Just Jobs. " Shirley-ism "Be accountable, responsible. Don’t tell me to "call you to remind you. " Who’s going to call me to remind you?" it’s your responsibility to remember your own things. " Shirley-ism "learn it our way first. Then we can discuss your ideas. It’s likely we’ve tried and already made the mistakes your about to make. There's usually a reason we do things a particular way. " Miller-ism "There seems to be nothing more permanent then something temporary. Better to do it right the first time just in case. " Shirley-ism When you move something clean under it or behind it. It ain't gonna clean it’s self!" Shirley-ism "Time is Money, never double-handle things. " Shirley-ism from her dad. "If you use something put it back. Everything has a place. Put it in it’s place. Then when you need it you don’t wast time looking for it, you know where its going to be. " Shirley-ism "If something explodes in the microwave, clean it up your mother doesn’t work here. LOL" And one last one shared by Shirley and Grandma Miller when talking to the employees. "If you can work and talk great. If not. . . just work. " All of us that she touched will be forever in her debt for the things she has taught us. She will forever be on our minds and in our hearts. Shirley is survived by her 5 children and in her words "OODLES" of grandchildren and great grand children. We Love you mom, we will miss you deeply. Until we see you again. We love you. Donald Willam Dixon left his mortal existence unexpectedly Sunday morning the 3rd of December at his home in the presence of the one thing in life he loved the most, his lifelong sweetheart, his wife, his everything, Kathrine Dixon. One can hardly sum up into a few paragraphs a man who lived life so fully, so passionately as Don Dixon did. Don was born in Ogden, Utah on July 23, 1953. He was the oldest of 5 children. His fondest memories were in the mountains and rivers up Weber Canyon with his Grandpa Dixon. Nothing Don did in life was done halfway or small. Don built his company from the ground up and included painting projects such as large LDS temples, Real Soccer stadium and countless other large-scale projects. With all his success in business and love of his hobbies and passions in life nothing was more important to Don than his family. From a very young age Don was a caretaker, provider, example, and hero to nearly everyone around him, in the role as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was always present and concerned with the desire to ensure everyone around him was well taken care of and loved. Arturo was also a professional singer during the well-known era of La Nueva Ola in the 60s in Chile, which was an artistic and musical movement that re-energized Chilean performers. At the young age of 22 years old, Arturo recorded several records and an album, Goles Musicales. Tom Olson

Tom Olson

Age - 76

November 27, 2023

On Sunday, November 19, 2023, Heaven welcomed home one of the Greats as Tom Olson peacefully passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on both sides of the veil. His journey was anything but ordinary, as evidenced by the remarkable life he lived and the untold number of lives he touched with his humor, friendship, wisdom, and love. Tom was one of 12 children born to Les and Reva Olson (6 boys and 6 girls). He was kind hearted and also quite mischievous in nature, so his life was full of adventure from his early days. He and his brothers and sisters shared many childhood memories over the years, with Tom always in the middle of the trouble and escapades they all experienced together. Tom graduated from Skyline High School in 1966 and joined the United States Air Force where he served as a sergeant in the Strategic Air Command unit in Amarillo, Texas and at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Also in 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathy "Kate" Powell, with whom he had three children, Kim (Gordon), Amy (Scott), and Clayton. Tom and Kate divorced in 1971. Several years later Tom met and married the love of his life, Sally Kone, and they became a blended family with Sally’s daughter, Jody. Together they also have a son, Jason (Kendra). Tom and Sally shared over 45 wonderful years of marriage together. During that time, the family has grown to include 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Tom spent his professional life working for the family business, Les Olson Company, serving in many capacities from the company’s inception in 1956 until he retired as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer in 2012. Tom also had many interests, including hunting, fishing, boating, watching and betting on all the football, basketball, and baseball games, with his enthusiasm for playing golf surpassing them all. For several years, he served on the board of directors and as Chairman of the Board at Alpine Country Club. In 2014, Tom combined his passion for golf with another deeply personal interest of his—sobriety. He and a fellow friend in recovery had an idea, and with the help of several others, including 3 of his brothers, Good Time Golf was founded as a 501(c)(3) charity. Almost 10 years later, Good Time Golf is still going strong in its mission "to provide a safe and sober environment for those recovering from substance abuse and mental health issues to connect, golf, and grow. " He often used his own life experiences to help others, and in addition to the creation of Good Time Golf, Tom "starred" in the documentary, "Road Back," a film highlighting the all too real truth that there’s no easy path through addiction. The movie was previewed at an event in Hollywood, California in 2017. Tom had a reassuring presence that made everyone feel at ease when they were around him. He was good-natured in any circumstance, and his wit and charm could only be rivalled by his kindness and generosity of spirit. He was a giant of a man who lived life on his own terms. He left this earth the same way. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 6PM – 8PM at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 2 at The Church of Jesus Christ-of-Latter Saints building located at 1450 Raddon Drive, Sandy, Utah at 11AM with a viewing preceding the service from 10AM – 10:40AM. Interment will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery located at 1342 East 500 South in Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good Time Golf at tomolson72par. com.Show more
