Graveside Service: 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Chapin Road Cemetery, 8800 Chapin Road, Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation: 6-8 pm, Monday, September 11, 2023, Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas. Gerry was born, October 9, 1942, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Mary Cato and Gaines Robinson. She was married to Aubrey Kelly. Not only was she an amazing wife and mom, but a wonderful cook, interior designer, and sales lady. She loved to talk and laugh, and her smile would light up the room. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Aubrey Kelly, and daughter, Lynn Pritchett. Gerry is survived by her daughter, Brandy Kelly; a sister, Becky Earlston; a brother, Fred Robinson; Niece, Kim Bentley; Nephew, Dwight Martin; and Cousins, Debra Moore, Bessie Mae Cannon, Billy Robinson, Lorraine Bruton, Bill Coffey, Dennis Robinson and LaDell Boehm.

Thursday, November 16, 2023, Perrin Memorial Gardens, Perrin, Texas. Should friends desire, memorials may be given to Travis Quilting Ministry, Travis Avenue Baptist Church, 800 W. Berry Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76110 Doris was born on April 8, 1925, in Spur, TX to Lola and Henry Allen. She was a graduate of Perrin High School where she met her husband R L Cranford. They were married on May 25, 1946 in Mineral Wells. After High School, Doris attended Texas Wesleyan College. Doris and R L moved to Wichita Falls in 1970. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls and taught Childrens Sunday School for many years. Doris was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a great cook, seamstress, and homemaker. Her children remember that she attended every function they had. And she made sure they made church a big part of their life, teaching them to love the Lord with all their heart. When she moved to Fort Worth, she became an active member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church, and became involved in the Quilting Group at Travis. She had an infectious smile that brought joy to many. She also loved the Dallas Mavericks, second only to the Rangers. Doris was preceded in death by her husband R L Cranford and her son, Dr. Reggie Cranford. Survivors: Children, Judy Smith and husband Bryan, Nan Dean and husband Michael, and Janice Vorster and husband Andre'; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends.Show more

FORT WORTH - Evelyn Cewilla Duffee, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 28, 2023. Funeral: 12 p. m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Dido Cemetery. She was married for 65 years to Dallon Odell Duffee. They had four children, Stanley, Sharon, Clayton (Paula) and Brad (Chrystal); three grandsons, Shawn, Spenser and Michael; and one great-grandson, Beau. Willa was born at the family home in Talco, Texas on Oct. 27, 1937, to Amos and Lorena Willson. She was an excellent student and graduated with honors in 1955 from Bogota High School. She was offered a full scholarship to college but chose a different path for herself. She wanted out of the tiny little town and off the farm. She moved to Fort Worth and got her first job at a bank. . . . it would be her only job outside the home. She met and married Dallon a few years later. Being a wife and mother would be her life for the next 65 years. When you'd go by to visit, she would be in the kitchen preparing a delicious meal. She had recipes from past generations and had mastered them all. We will all miss her peanut brittle, coconut balls and other goodies at Christmas time. Willa had the uncanny ability to remember dates of every event of family members and recorded them in her bible. She often pulled out her photo albums and recalled days gone by. Pictures spark memories of picking peanuts until her hands would bleed. She told the story of how she would name the cows because she loved them so much and when harvest time came, she would cry. From the time she figured out where eggs came from, she would go the rest of her life never eating one. She learned compassion at a very young age. Willa preferred to live a pretty simple life. She went to the beauty shop on Friday's otherwise she never pampered herself. She enjoyed feeding the birds and sitting on the back porch watching them. She taught us all that God and family are the most important things. She often said, "I just want everybody to get along". She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallon; grandson, Michael; her parents; and her only sister, Vernell.Show more

Ramon Montes

FORT WORTH - Ramon Acevedo, 84, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023. Born July 6, 1939, to Brigido and Rosa Acevedo in Jalisco, Mexico. In his teens Ramon was very involved with the Catholic Church in Ahualulco de Mercado Jalisco Mexico. He spoke about being an alter server and bragged about being infant Jesus during the advent celebrations. Upon migrating to the states he attended church when he could. He married Rosa Del Carmen and moved to Texas. For a while they lived in Colorado until coming back to Texas to rest in peace. He did two years at a university in Guadalajara, majoring in criminal justice. Ramon migrated from Acuna Coahuila, Mexico to Fort Worth, Texas in 1973. Prior to migrating to the states him and Rosa owned and operated a restaurant and also ran a brickyard. He was a construction foreman for over 15 years in Fort Worth. He worked on bridges and overpasses as well as building strip malls in Dallas/Fort Worth area. In the early 90's he and the family migrated to Gill, Colo. He worked as a truck driver and eventually owned and operated his trucking company in Weld County, Colo. , prior to retiring. Upon retiring he enjoyed gardening, cooking and chasing his grandkids and great-grandkids. He had an amazing green thumb and could cook delicious authentic Mexican food. He enjoyed visits from all of his friends and family. Dolores Ann "Dee" Sharp age 94, of Iredell, passed away on November 28, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services will take place at 2 P. M. , Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the First Methodist Church in Meridian. Pastor San-ky Kim will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Graveside services will be held on December 11, 2023 at 9 A. M. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Dolores was born in Atlanta, Georgia but came to Texas when she was 18 months old. (She believes her coming to Texas that early makes her a true Texan). Born to Alice Mabel Ketcham and Cyril Francis Dieter, Sr. The family moved to San Antonio where her father opened an insurance agency. She was raised and educated in Alamo Heights, a residential area in North San Antonio. Dolores married Kermit F. Gombert and to that union three children were born. She worked for the Department of the United States Air Force at Randolph Air Force Base for fourteen years. While employed at Randolph she was the Executive Secretary to the Chief of Aircraft Maintenance and a Reporter for the base newspaper "The Wingspread". Dee organized a secretary's council which provided a resource for employee communication throughout the base. She also started a modeling club for the secretaries and branched out with her own group of models as requested for various events. After leaving Randolph, she married AF Colonel Savell Lee Sharp of Sonora, Texas. While stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, after serving 26 years, Lee retired in 1967 and they moved to his Diamond S. Ranch in Meridian, Texas which he started in 1954. They sold the ranch in the early 70's and bought the place at Iredell that served as the headquarters for the ranching interest. While cattle ranching, they also operated their "Shalimar Acres" a Nubian Goat farm where they raised and exported Nubian Goats. Dee was the consummate Civic Volunteer, she embarked on this journey when she was diagnosed with MS in 1964. While serving as president of the Shepard AF Garden Club, she designed and was responsible for the new main entrance to the base. She then, after retiring to the ranch became president of both the Meridian and Hico Garden Clubs. It was early in 1985 that she was commissioned a "Yellow Rose of Texas" by Governor Mark White. It was in the early 80's that she co-founded the docent program of the Bosque Museum. She later was recognized by the Bosque Museum as their Heritage Award winner for the year. The Bosque County Commissioners recognized her efforts by awarding her their volunteer citizen of the year. She became a member of the Bosque County Child Protection Services board in 1990 and served as their president for 23 years. To this day she is an honorary member of that board. Dolores has continued all of these efforts throug her work with the Ladies Auxillary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving as District #29 president for 5 consecutive years. She was the charter president of the Iredell Auxilliary for 15 years and again served in this capacity when the post closed in 2014. She is a docent for the Bosque Museum and was faithful to her church in Laguna Park. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Deborah "Debi" Anne Sharp Schultz, Gregory F. Sharp; daughter-in-law, Johanna Sue Gombert; four granddaughters and four great-granddaughters; sister-in-law, Norma Dieter; numerous cousins and their kin and a host of friends. Preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Sherry Lea Sharp; son, Kermit F. "Skip" Gombert, Jr. , sisters, Joyce "Peggy" Keith and her husband, Benjamin M. Keith, Jr. Genevieve E. Carroll and her husband, Grover C. Carroll; and brother, Cyril F. Dieter, Jr. She is also survived by her constant and loyal companion Donald J. Bolduc. Kay Anne Mitchell, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 29th, 2023 in her hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. Born on January 14th, 1944 in Fort Worth, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Kay will always be remembered for her deep love for her family and dear friends. She found immense joy in spending time with them, creating lasting bonds that will continue to bring comfort and support in the years to come. Her warm and embracing nature made everyone feel welcome and loved in her presence. One of Kay's greatest loves was her dogs. These furry companions brought endless happiness into her life, offering unwavering loyalty and companionship. The bond between Kay and her four-legged friends was truly special and showcased the depth of her caring heart. Throughout her life journey, Kay found immense fulfillment in being a devoted wife to her cherished love, Louie James Mitchell. Their relationship was built on a foundation of love, trust, and mutual respect. Together they faced life's challenges hand-in-hand, creating a haven of love within their home. In addition to being a loving wife, Kay was also a wonderful mother. She leaves behind her adoring sons: Billy Reynolds, Doug Reynolds, and Curtis Reynolds. Her guidance and unwavering support were instrumental in shaping their lives. As a mother, she instilled in them the values of compassion, kindness, and the importance of family. Kay will be met at heavens gates by her loving husband, Louie James Mitchell, her mother and father and many other cherished loved ones. Kay's sister Connie Avina held a special place in her heart. They shared laughter-filled moments and created beautiful memories together. Their sisterly bond was unbreakable and brought them strength throughout their lives. The legacy of Kay's love extends to her grandchildren: Tera Reynolds. With open arms and an open heart, she embraced the role of grandmother with unparalleled affection. She watched proudly as her grandchildren grew, offering them unwavering support and providing them with cherished memories. Kay's great-grandchildren, Alex Bosquez, Steven Bosquez, and Andrew Bosquez, brought immense joy into her life. She loved witnessing the world anew through their eyes, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her love for them shone brightly and will forever remain in their hearts. Kay's love was not limited to her immediate family. She had a deep affection for her nieces and nephews: Latasha, Avina and Veronica Guerrero, and many more. Her nurturing nature extended to these beloved individuals, and she leaves behind lasting impressions of love and care. She was also deeply cherished by her many nieces and nephews: Sonny Stephens, Anthony Adams, and many more. Kay formed unbreakable bonds with these individuals, creating a network of love that enriched her life immeasurably. Services to honor Kay's life will be held on December 8th and 9th, 2023. The visitation will take place on December 8th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas. A graveside service will follow on December 9th at 10:00 AM at Skyvue Memorial Gardens in Mansfield. These services will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate the beautiful life that Kay lived. Kay Anne Mitchell will forever be cherished as a woman of great warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Her legacy of love lives on through her family and friends who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her beautiful spirit. Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on November 6th, 2023 at the age of 89 after a long battle with Dementia. She was born in Frederick, OK on November 4, 1934 to Thomas Alfred Allen and Veda Lee Allen. She attended Lindale High School before studying education at Texas Christian University, then went on to become a long time educator and retiree of Fort Worth ISD. Sue will always be remembered for her amazing cooking, hospitality, contagious laugh, and positive attitude in any situation. She was known for having the biggest heart and could brighten any room just by her clear love for others. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, Nan, or Sweet, and will miss her dearly every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Jimmy Mounce, her second husband William Reaver, her brothers Troy & Bill Allen, her sister Tommie Jo Campbell, and her first great grandchild Tate Friederick. Survivors include her children; Karen McKenzie, Michael Mounce and his significant other Rhonda Brown, her grandchildren; Jessica Magro, Nicholas Magro, Melanie Allison, Travis Allison, and Michael Reinke, her two great grandchildren; Kaysen Magro and Kyrie Magro, and many nieces and nephews. She was born March 27th,1964, to Mary Lee Greyer. Shirley was ambitious from the day she was born. She was a devoted Christian and highly valued her education and work. At an early age, Shirley accepted Christ under the leadership of Damion Miguel Epps at Mt Calvary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. After relocating to Shelby, Mississippi, she found a church home under Pastor Emma Williams at Pleasant Grove Outreach Ministries. Her education was just as important. She attended Shelby Elementary & Broad Street High School in Shelby MS. She later continued her education at Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Ill. She took an interest in dance and softball. She later completed courses at Canella Beauty School. She also had further interest and became a healthcare aid and cook. Shirley will be joining her mother, Mary Lee Greyer, sister: Charlene, Jenny, Ruby, brother; Darryl and other family members in God's mansion. Helen Ann Blevins Black, one of three children born to Clive and Prentice Blevins of Fort Worth,Texas, took the hand of Jesus and peacefully passed away with her family by her side, Friday, November 17, 2023, ten days shy of her 84th birthday. Helen, to most known as "Molly", suffered a stroke in her brain stem on November 7th and was battling pneumonia; yet on her last day with us, she was "singing" using her strong right hand and finger conducting hymns we played for her shortly before she passed. Her spirit of boldness in faith, determination and fortitude to make the best of every situation is- and will always be- her signature description. To everyone who knew her, Molly will forever be remembered as the most loving, generous, supportive, talented, creative, fun, and SO WELL LIKED person to be around. Sacrificial love and unwavering faith is what she modeled daily in the life she led. Whether it be the songs and hymns she would sing around the house and play on the piano, or when she directed Christmas pageants at church, or through her many leadership roles in school or church activities, her faith was evident and viverant to all. Molly made it top priority to be fully present with her children as they grew up. She was there ready to serve always in any youth activity such as Girl Scouts, Pee Wee Football and Spirit Teams, Homeroom Mother, Church Camp Chaperone, and many, many others that came with five very social children as well her active grandchildren. If something was going on Molly and Pop would be there! Her love for family was the foundation upon which she taught and modeled her strong faith and she never hesitated to say out loud what she thought we needed to know or hear to keep us mindful of Christian living. Molly was THE example of a godly mother, grandmother and great grandmother; so FUN and FULL OF LIFE! There was nothing Molly wouldn't do for her kids, so as the family grew it was easy to see that everyone saw Molly as the family's star for all things good. Her demonstrative voice of logic and reason was one of her many strengths and we loved her for her consistency in telling and expecting the truth. She was sharp, liked game shows. . . and never hesitated to let us know she knew the answer way before we did. She loved westerns, any Doris Day movie, Little House on the Prairie, and never missed an episode of All My Children back in the day. Her life was her family, and it was evident every single day she lived. Her boundless, faithful love is what made Helen our beloved Mom and Molly. Oh how she will be missed! Helen Ann and Beryl Black married June 14th, 1957 right after Helen graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Our father worked tirelessly and faithfully to provide her a life as a stay-at-home mom. They were committed to each other through all that life brought and celebrated 66 years as one this past June. Helen Ann Blevins Black was predeceased by her parents: Gordon Clive Blevins, Prentice Elizabeth Harrell Blevins, and older sister, Wanda Joy Blevins Long.
