Geraldine Jones Obituary

Geraldine B. Jones, age 93, passed away at home in Egg Harbor Township on May 8, Born in Wichita, Kansas, she lived in various Kansas locations during the Depression, to include a chicken shack and back of a truck. In 1941 her family moved to a farm in Wellington, Kansas. She would sit on the hill in the pasture and dream of going to Kansas City. The farm is still family owned. She attended college for a year before marrying Thomas Merryman and starting a family. She began working as a secretary at Boeing Company in Wichita in 1953. In 1964 the family moved to Aston Township, PA. Gerry retired after 33 years as Secretary to the Boeing Vertol Gerry and her second husband William Jones (Boeing Vice President) traveled internationally intensively for both work and pleasure. She and Bill also owned Country Antiques, restoring and selling furniture from Lancaster County, PA. After his passing she and her children became owners of the Tuckahoe Inn, Upper Township in 1997. Her many years of work experience at Survivors include her daughter Vicki and son Tyson. Her daughter in-law Barbara Jean Pinnock and granddaughters Jessica and Olivia. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husbands Thomas Merryman, William Jones and daughter Melanie. Her Funeral Service will be offered Friday, May 12th at 12 noon from The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of service. Her Graveside Service will be held on Saturday morning, May 13th at 11 o'clock in Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA Memorial donations may be given to Funny Farm Rescue, 6908 Railroad Boulevard, Mays Landing, NJ 08330, or the animal shelter of your choice.
