Gerald Francis Twigg, born on January 20, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late James and Hazel Twigg, left this world on October 4, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Muriel, his son Darryl, and siblings George, Mary Anne, and Patricia Ann. Gerald is survived by his children Michael (Carol), Gerald (Kristin), and Mickie Kesteloot, whom he cherished deeply. He was a dedicated brother to Edward (MaryJo) and Veronica (Bill) and will be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews.

Kyle Joseph Manni, a devoted husband, father, brother, son and grandson, passed away from this life on December 2nd, 2023 at the tender age of 35. Born July 29th, 1988 to Ronald and Paula Manni, Kyle leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and joy for life. He was the loving husband to his wife Katie, and was a cherished and devoted father to Noah and Emily. Kyle embraced his role as a caring brother to his sister Erica (David) Muller, son-in law to Donald and Nancy Liebau and grandson to Midge Manni. Kyle was the beloved brother-in-law to Dan (Susan), Kristen (Matt), Kelly (Dave), and Andy. He was the adoring uncle to baby David, a dear nephew to many aunts and uncles, and treasured cousin of many. Kyle was a "best" friend to many golf, softball, and bowling buddies. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew him. Through his generous gift of life, he will continue to make a profound difference in the lives of many others, allowing them to have a chance at life and health, a beautiful legacy that reflects his kindness and compassion. His family will receive visitors on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the L. J. Barbara "Betty" E. Martin, a cherished resident of Westland, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the age of 96. Betty was the beloved wife of the late William S. , Sr. , sharing 50 wonderful years together. She was a loving mother to Bill (Malinda), Jr. , Barbara (Earl) Watson, Brenda Peet, Brian (Cathy), Robert (Cyndie), and Brad (Sharon). Her legacy continues through her 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her sisters Anna Marie, Dorothy, and Jacqueline Dolores. She was an integral part of St. Theodore Catholic Church, which later became St. Mary Cause of Our Joy, joining just after its establishment and celebrating the church's 50th anniversary. Betty actively participated in the women's group at St. Mary Cause of Our Joy, where she found a sense of community and purpose. Betty's life was a testament to resilience and determination. She worked diligently to achieve her GED later in life and also learned to drive, displaying a remarkable commitment to self-improvement. Known for her unwavering support, Betty attended every sporting event her children participated in and was a fervent sports enthusiast herself. In her leisure time, Betty found joy in senior trips, crocheting, and exploring her artistic side through painting. Her bond with her grandchildren was special, often spending cherished moments playing bingo and Yahtzee with them. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Thursday, December 14, from 1:30 p. m. to 8 p. m. at L. J. Griffin Funeral Home, located at 8809 N. Wayne Rd. (at Joy Rd. ), where a Rosary will be held at 7 p. m. A Mass will be held in her honor on Friday, December 15, starting with visitation at 10:30 a. m. at St. Mary Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church, 8200 N. Wayne Rd. (S. of Joy Rd. ), followed by the Mass at 11 a. m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Medical Team Hospice (medicalteam. com) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude. org) in honor of Betty's memory. ObituaryRaymond Anthony Parzych, age 98, passed away on November 27, 2023. He was born in Detroit to Walenty (Valentine) and Rozalia (Rose) Parzych. He grew up on Bushey Street with 7 brothers and sisters. Ray served in the Marine Corps during World War II as a communications specialist and stateside during the Korean War. During World War II, his detachment was engaged in intense combat in the Battle of Okinawa. While boarding a small landing boat from the USS McIntyre, he made a pact with God that if he survived, he would be eternally grateful. While attending Michigan State University prior to serving in the Korean War, he met the love of his life, Betty at her sister's wedding shower. After his military service was concluded, they were married at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Windsor, Ontario. Soon afterwards, they purchased a new home on Berg Road in Detroit where they raised their four sons. Ray was involved in several committees at St. Eugene Catholic Church where the boys received the sacraments and attended grade school. Ray worked his entire career of 29 years for the City of Detroit, mostly in the Food Inspection Unit of the Health Department. Once retired, he and Betty relocated to the community of Highland Lakes in Northville where they were both very involved in several committees and causes. Winters were often spent in Destin, Florida where they played golf and developed many lasting friendships. Ray is survived by Betty, his wife of 71 years, and four sons, Gary (Janice), Christopher (Mary Beth), Randy (Judy), and Matthew (Patience), five grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, and 1 great-grandson on the way. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Northville on December 11 at 11:00 am.
