Mr. Gerald John Brody, 78, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023. A celebration of his life will be held in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, September 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023 between the hours of 6 PM and 8 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Sang Brody at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Mr. Brody was born October 2, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mr. Roy Brody and Mrs. Evelyn Nylen Brody. In addiation to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brohter, Rip "Roy" Brody. Mr. Brody proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military, he began working as a civil servant at Robins Air Force Base as a computer programmer. He enjoyed attending services when able at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. When he wasn't working he could be found wetting a hook in a pond or watching his favorite movies. Mr. Brody will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons: Robert Brody and John (Tammy) Brody; grandchildren: Taelor, Gage, Madison, Evan and Chase; siblings: James, Darlene, and Ardelle; and a host of extended family and friends. Robert Lee Sayles, Jr. was born August 2 1981, in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was the fourth child born to the union of Robert and Beverly Sayles. Not to be called Junior, he was affectionately given the name Butch, which he answered to all of his life. His life, although short, was filled with promise and purpose, as he had a remarkable wit and a thirst for knowledge. Butch was educated in the Houston County school system, a proud Class of 1999 graduate at Northside High School. He was an athlete who loved all types of sports; football, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, or any competitive game. Butch was ready not only to play but to win. After graduation he attended Albany State University and was a proud RAM. Some time later, he took a job as a corrections officer and finished in the top of his graduating class. Realizing that his heart was in mechanics, Butch began working with TransSouth, a job that brought him peace, joy, fulfillment, and satisfaction Butch learned to love and he loved well. This could have been attributed to his three older sisters or from the relationship he had with his mother, but the relationships he developed were real. He gave his heart to the Lord while attending First Baptist Church. As a very active member of the youth department, he sang in the choir, participated in activities, and made a few friends along the way. Butch developed into a leader and usually tried to go the right way. He was a joy to be around, would give you the shirt off of his back, and was definitely loved by all. Butch married and from that union he had two daughters, Robyn and LaRiena. Although the marriage dissolved, he remained a committed father to his girls. His first born, Robyn, was named after his Auntie to honor a sibling pledge. Affectionately called "Face stealer", Robyn not only looks like her father, but shares his intellectual talents, artistic abilities, and love for drawing and fashion. La'Reina stole the show. She is full of energy, headstrong, and has proven to be a young lady who was not going to be left behind. She took his artistic talents and his love for cooking. Butch was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Sayles. He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters Robyn and La'Reina; his father Rev Robert Sayles, Sr. ; three sisters, Mishan Davezan of Jacksonville, FL, Lynda, and Jessica Sayles of Warner Robins, GA; his brother Daniel and sister-in-law Rashawn of Perry, GA; four nephews Jaylan, Austin, Aiden, and Ethan; three nieces, Gabrielle, Ajah, and Jackson; great-nephew Elijah; and 2 godchildren. Butch was a family favorite and shared close relationships with them all, but especially his cousin Chad Hampton. He also has 7 aunts, 7 uncles, a host of cousins, and friends.Show more

Cecil Tobler

A beautiful life closed Wednesday, November 29, 2023, when our dear beloved brother, Cecil Seymore Tobler gained his wings after his temporary stay here on earth. Cecil was born January 27, 1966, in Perry, Georgia to the parents of the late Mr. Seymore Tobler and the late Mae Frances Tobler of Warner Robins, Georgia. He was a graduate of Perry High School where he played football and was a prestigious student. He also attended Middle Georgia Technical College where he achieved his Barber's license and served the citizens of Warner Robins and surrounding areas as their well known and loved barber. His bright smile and loving sense of humor shined radiantly throughout his life. He leaves to cherish his memories two lovely daughters, Brianna Jordan, and Johnice Williams. Seven sisters Elaine (Eddie) Price, Annice Mitchell, Caroline Clay, Vanessa Brinkley, Veronica Watkins, Melanie (Carlton) Clarington, and Sharonda (Kirt) Collins. Three brothers Carlton Tobler, Spencer (Tammy) Tobler, and Marquette Tobler. Two grandsons, one granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.Show more

Age - 65

E. Dennis Normand, age 65, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, December 6, 2023. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory at 2 PM. A visitation will take place an hour and a half prior between the hours of 12:30 PM and 2 PM. Immediately following the service Dennis will be laid to rest at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Dennis was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 8, 1958 to the late John and Janice Normand. He received a Master's degree in Electronics and was retired from Robins Air Force Base as a civil servant. He was the lead engineer with the F-15 Armament Systems and worked closely with military weapons and equipment. He enjoyed discharging devices and could even craft his own with his unique skills. He was a loving husband, stepfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, R. Mary Normand; stepdaughter, Becky Carlisle; brother, Mike (LaNae) Normand of Alabama; sister, Judy (Bob) Wallace of Idaho; and a host of extended family and friends. Jerry Wayne Douglas, age 75, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, 2:00 PM, at Pleasant Ridge Community Church, 2049 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Greensboro, North Carolina, 27410. Jerry was born January 16, 1948 to the late James Doulglas and Ruby Paige Douglas in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was devoted to the Catholic Church and was a member of The Knights of Columbus. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew Darrell Hinson. He graduated from Ben L. Smith High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Becoming a father, he then decided his daughters' education was more important and chose family over his own educational journey. He was an avid reader, loved the ocean, and a constant jokester, always loving to laugh and see others smile. His giving nature was unmatched, never thought twice about helping those he cared about, many he never met. Throughout his life, he was faced with multiple physical obstacles; but he was a fighter. He successfully fought many life threatening illnesses; continuing the fight when it came to his daughter Cindy, who also faced life threatening illnesses of her own. Jerry loved his family, but none more than his daughters Amanda and Cindy. He was always willing to sacrifice anything for their happiness, health, and security. He is survived by daughters: Amanda Douglas and Cindy (William) Wyrick; siblings: Shirley Earman, Ronnie Douglas, and Marchelle (Don) Moody; six grandchildren: Brandon, Taryn, James, Chris, CarlyAnn, Payton, and William; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. William Russom

Mr. William (Bill) Wayne Russom, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 5, 2023. A private graveside service will be held at a later date, where Bill will be laid to rest with his wife, Beverly, at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Bill was born in Great Bend, Kansas, on January 23, 1940, to the late Warren and Bernice Russom. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Greenfield Russom, and brothers Wilbur and James Russom. Bill served his country proudly in the United States Navy. His time in the Navy kindled a love for aviation that became his life's profession. Bill retired after 45 years in the aviation industry as a mechanic. He spent most of his spare time building and flying model airplanes, piloting his own personal airplane, and attending air shows. Bill loved to watch the Navy's Blue Angels fly. In addition to model airplanes, he had a knack for building model trains and their landscapes. When Bill took a break from his planes and trains, he enjoyed watching old westerns, football, and NASCAR. He also liked to travel to some of his favorite places, to include Switzerland, Colorado and Alaska. He lived in the following states: Kansas, Colorado, California, Maine, Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Bill also enjoyed being outside fishing or practicing his photography skills. Above all, Bill cherished the time he spent with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Bill is survived by his daughters: Michelle (Mike) Bounds and Cindy (Ken) Phillips; grandchildren: Lindsay (Brandon) Alexander, Shayne (Danielle) Bounds, Avery Phillips, and Kincade Phillips; great grandson, Paxton Bounds; sister-in-law, Gwen Russom, his trusted and faithful lab Zowie, and a host of extended friends and family. Gerald (Jerry) Edward Struck, 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, December 3, at 2:00PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Rev. Wiley Leverette will officiate. A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, from 3:00PM until 5:00PM. Jerry was born April 27, 1932 in Mondovi, Wisconsin to the late Fred and Minnie Struck. He was one of 5 children, all now deceased: Ray (Alvie), Cleo (Al), Henry, and Art (Inga), Jerry met his wife, Doris, in 1950, his one and only love. They married two years later and enjoyed 63 wonderful years together before her passing. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a power engineer for Pabst Brewing Company for the majority of his career, finishing his work life with Gilmore Warehouses. Jerry had a love for Country Western Music and frequently visited the Clinton Opry and the Powersville Opry, where he gained many friendships. He was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church, and in 2020 became a part of the Solid Rock Church family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Jerry was most known for his wide-spread knowledge, high level of integrity, a strong work ethic, and a great sense of humor. Everyone who knew him will miss him. Gerald is survived by his children: Mike Struck of Atlanta, Dave Struck (Hanh) of Duluth, Michelle Keith (Billy) of Kathleen, Debbie Halverson (Kim) of Marietta, and Corey Bucholz (Bryan) of Bonaire; ten grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Joe Darrell Hammonds, Jr. , age 67, of Warner Robins, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. A Prayer Service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, November 24, 2023 at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with visitation beginning at 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Steve Patti will officiate. Mr. Hammonds was born in Macon, Georgia the son of the late Mary Ann Hatcher Hammonds and Joe D. Hammonds, Sr. and was preceded in death by his daughter, Kellie Hammonds and a sister, Beth McIlmail. He retired from Civil Service after 34 years at Robins Air Force Base and was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Mr. Hammonds attended Marion Military Institute and graduated from Jacksonville State University in Alabama where he played football for both schools. Mr. Hammonds is survived by his wife, Gina F. Hammonds of Warner Robins; sons, J. Darrell Hammonds, III and William A. Hammonds; daughter, Amanda L. Hammonds; grandson, Riley Hammonds; sister, Kathy Bateman (Clifford); several nieces and nephews.
