Obituary of Gerald Baze Gerald Clay Baze, age 90, from Columbia South Carolina departed from this earth on February 6th, 2019. Gerald was born on March 23rd, 1928 in Roodhouse, Illinois to Ollie and Clara Bell Baze (deceased). He was married for 49 years to Il Pun Baze. Gerald was a career military man who defended this country in Korean and Vietnam. Gerald loved fishing on the lakes in South Carolina and watching his favorite westerns on the silver screen...Especially John Wayne. He loved his family and was always ready to share his life's adventures with a smile to family and friends alike. Gerald is survived by his wife, Il Pun Baze; children, Brenda Davis (Brad) and Diane Mantooth (Chris); grandchildren, Riane Crowder, Trent Davis, Taylor Crowder, Amanda Davis and Skylar McGaha; great-grandchildren, Karmai, Kendel and Riley; siblings, Russell, Hal, Ethel and Tom; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Mildred (Sally), Gene, Grace, Billy, Shirley, Everette and Jackie The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, February 10th, 2019 from 3:00 P.M. till 5:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Burial will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Tuesday, February 12th, 2019 at 12:00 P.M.
