AGNES (BISCONTI) GERAGHTY August 1, 1942 - August 14, 2023 Agnes (Bisconti) Geraghty, outstanding wife, mother, educator, and most importantly, a woman of faith, passed away from this world into the arms of her Savior, August 14, 2023. Agnes was born to parents Benny and Tessie (Guimmule) Bisconti on August 1, 1942. In departing this world, she leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Reeves Geraghty, who together with her, treasured, took delight in, and was so very proud of her family--daughter, Dawn Sofia, and her spouse, Rob; son, Glen Geraghty, and his spouse, Sharon. She was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Sarah and Amalia Sofia and Morgan and Micah Geraghty. She was also recently blessed with her newest family delight--the birth of her grandnephew, "Little" Benny. Agnes is also survived by her brother and his wife, David and Kathy Bisconti, and her nephew and his wife, Justin, and Marta Bisconti. Justin is "Little" Benny's dad. Agnes (Ag) grew up in Garfield, New Jersey, and, having attended Garfield High School, she graduated with the class of 1960. Throughout her life, she has carried fond reflections and abiding affections for the relationships she had within her circle of friends from that period of her life. From high school she went on to earn a BA degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and would ultimately obtain her teaching certification at Centenary College. Over the years her career in teaching would take her to both public and private schools, all in which she was recognized as a dedicated and excellent third-grade teacher. Her longest, and by far, most rewarding time as an educator was the many years she spent teaching at Crossroads Christian Academy in Clinton, New Jersey. There came a point in Agnes's life, as a young wife and mother, in which she came to embrace the gospel message of the Bible. In doing so she experienced a life transforming faith, a faith which would shape, mold, and motivate her in all that she did for the rest of her life. Agnes devoted herself to not only being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandparent, and teacher, but also to a life of selfless commitments, activities, and ministries which would reflect her Lord's teaching of loving her Lord with her whole heart, mind, and soul and her neighbor as herself. Within her church fellowship (Emmanuel Bible Church, Schooley's Mountain, New Jersey) she was involved in children's ministries at every level and was always ready to provide meals to all who were in need. Agnes was a gifted leader within the women's ministries in the church, mentoring and counseling younger women, and taking delight in serving as a leader, teacher, and participant in the Women's Bible Study. Over the years, in her desire to serve, Agnes often took her love and skills beyond the walls of her church community. She served for several summers as the dining room hostess at a youth ministry, Camp Susque in Trout Run, Pennsylvania. With her family, she also spent a year at a mission station ministering to the needs of tribal groups in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil. Again, with her family, she took into her home, hosted, and wonderfully resettled Vietnamese refugee families into our culture and an ultimate prosperous independence. Agnes was also involved in community ministry service projects in the inner cities of Watts in Los Angeles, California and Newark, New Jersey. After a prolonged and difficult illness and as her final days approached, she wanted family, friends, and all to know that she was at peace in her heart, counting the blessings of God's grace and love in her life and, in the words of her favorite hymn, that "it is well, it is well with MY soul!" Agnes had the joy of experiencing that promised peace of Philippians 4:6-7: ". . . and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus!" In fact, this woman of faith, in her final hours, brought peace to her hearers and comforted her comforters. In her final days at the Karen Ann Quinlin Hospice Home in Fredon, New Jersey, she, and her family experienced the utmost in competent, compassionate, and comforting care. Agnes's family is deeply indebted to the management and staff there for that sensitive and exceptional care. A memorial service honoring Agnes's life will be held on August 26 at 10:00 a. m. at Emmanuel Bible Church, 3 Pleasant Grove Rd, Schooley's Mountain, NJ 07870. Tel. (908) 852. 7305. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at
