Georgia Laikos, age 86, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She was born September 1, 1935, in Indianapolis, IN; daughter of the late Peter and Olga Alexander. Georgia was an incredible cook, baker and loved to entertain. She enjoyed investing in the stock market, playing poker, and she was an avid competitive bridge player. She had an amazing sense of humor and loved to laugh. Georgia was a proud member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and Philoptochos. She loved spending time with her family and especially loved being a Yiayia more than anything. Preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, Demetrios G. Laikos (1924-1994). Georgia is survived by her children, George (Hannan) Laikos, Peter (Cindy) Laikos, and Lydia (Chris) Melik; grandchildren, Maria (Ben), Elaina, Alex, Selena, Alyssa, Demetrios, Melina, Christian, and Jacob; great grandchildren, Athena and Leila; brother, Bill (Ann) Alexander; niece, Lisa; and nephew, Greg (Gena). Friends may call on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. , Fairlawn, OH 44333. Trisagion service will take place at 6:00 PM. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 25, at 11:00 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St. , Akron, OH 44304 with Rev. Fr. Jerry Hall and Rev. Fr. Nick Manuel officiating. Interment immediately following at Rose Hill Burial Park.
