"Georgia Bell Crittenden, 76, of Greeneville, died Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Durham Hensley Health and Rehabilitation Center. Georgia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Roxie and Randy Ricker and Jody and Mike Harrison; one son, whom she made her home with, Willie Slagle and Crystal Henderson; grandchildren, Michael Tunnell, Allen Tunnell, Dustin Clemments, Logan Harrison and Hunter Harrison; eight great-grandchildren, Jackston, Austin, Braylen, Dalton, Kip, Cassdee, Maddie, Charlie, and George; twin sister, Annie Bell and Ronnie McAmis; brother, Donnie Collins, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Crittenden was preceded in death by her husbands, Donnie Slagle, Dave Simpson and Jim Crittenden; a son, George Benjamin Slagle; her parents, James and Rieny Collins; three sisters, Ruth Crittenden, Jewel Helton and Eula Mae McCurry; and two brothers, Chester Collins and James D. Collins. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Friends and family are asked to meet at 10:00 am at the funeral home to go in procession to New Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery for the 11:00 am graveside service. Rev. Bob Simpson and Rev. Tommy Malone will officiate. Family and friends will be pallbearers. "

Carolyn Ann Effler, 74, of Greeneville, TN, passed away on December 7, 2023. She was born on May 26, 1949, to Joe and Virgie Carpenter. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bobby Carpenter and Larry Carpenter. Carolyn was a beloved wife of 40 years to Phil Effler. She was a devoted mother to her children Angela Westendorf (Scott), Melanie Wishon (Mike), Beverlee Henson, Melissa Williams , and son Trenton Effler. Carolyn was also a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren Amber Munchoff (Billy), Chuck Morgan (Caitlyn), Amanda Houston (Josh), Michael Wishon Jr. , Valiree Foster, Dustin Shelton, and Tristian Dearstone. Her great-grandchildren Ellie Jo Munchoff, Cadilynn Morgan, Audrey Houston, Christopher Morgan, and Charlotte Wishon brought immense joy to her life. Carolyn is also survived by her brother Teddy Carpenter, special friend Pam Messer, with whom she shared many years of laughter and love, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved dogs, Cassie and Spider Man. The funeral service will be handled by Kiser Rose Hill in Greeneville, TN. The family and friends will gather to remember Carolyn and celebrate her life on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Kiser- Rose Hill Funeral Home. Rev. Chuck Morgan will officiate. Lois Lee Rednour (Mysinger), age 76, went home to be with Jesus on November 29, 2023, after an extended illness. II Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the Faith. She was a very loving & caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her memory is a treasure that we will hold in our hearts forever. She retired from Magnavox after 36 years and also retired from Laughlin Hospital after 17 years. She was a member of Mt. Bethel FWB Church where she attended as long as her health permitted. She is survived by her wonderful husband of 58 years, Herman Rednour, Jr. ; two daughters: Louise (Jr) Babb of Mosheim and Donna Tadder of Greeneville; one sister: Frances Johnson of Jefferson City; three brothers: Johnny (Grace) Mysinger of Greeneville, Don (Catherine) Mysinger of Greeneville, and Paul (Penny) Mysinger of Jackson, TN; grandchildren: Niki (Jermy) Harmon of Alaska; Caleb (Krysta) Babb of South Carolina; Tasha Rednour; Dexter Polly; Tyler (Tori) Sentelle, Shan Sentelle and William Sentelle ( who she raised as her own ); great grandchildren: Alexis Hill; Joslynn and Kaylee Johnson of Alaska; Ethan and Lilly Babb of South Carolina; Ethan and Olivia Rednour, Hayden Kesterson, Cora and Sam Polly of Greeneville; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ora Lee Mysinger; two brothers: Earl Mysinger, Sr. and Ray Mysinger; one sister: Imogene Cutshall; and a daughter: Lisa Dawn Sentelle. The family will receive friends Monday 5:00-7:00 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Dwayne Steele will officiate. Donal Ray "Gabby" Inscore, age 89, of the Orebank community passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023. Gabby retired from Delfasco and was a member of Pine Grove Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, certified lay speaker, usher and choir member. He was also a member the Men's Club of Pine Grove Church, the Orebank Fire Department and a 50 year member of the Glenwood Ruritan. He was also a Shriner Road Runner. He is survived by his children: Phil and Jennifer Inscore, Sherree and Winfred Taylor; grandchildren: Chris and Jessica Johnson of Greenville, SC, Andrea and Brent Gray, Ashley and Chad Higginbotham, Phylicia Inscore and Zach Gunter of Johnson City; great grandchildren: Trey Johnson and Chloe Ferrell of Greenville, SC, Barrett Gray, Chloe Higginbotham; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years: Mary Katherine (Hale) Inscore; his parents: Virgil and Grace (Sauceman) Inscore; his brother and sister-in-law: JC and Pauline Inscore; an infant sister: Betty Joe Inscore; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: JD and Pauline Hale; Loyse and Polly Hale; Hal and Norma Jean Ealey; great grandson: Caleb Higginbotham; and fiancee of 16 years: Nelle Jaynes. The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday at Pine Grove Church on Bright Hope Road, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jim Fain and Rev. "Phillip S. Adams, M. D. , of Greeneville, passed away at his home on November 12th at the age of 73. He was the son of the late Angelo and Ann Adams of Greeneville. Dr. Adams graduated from Greeneville High School in 1968. After high school he attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. After graduation, he enrolled into the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, TN, graduating in June 1975. Upon graduation of medical school, he returned to Greeneville, where he practiced medicine for a number of years. While at the University of Tennessee, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa (May 5, 1971) and Alpha Epsilon Delta International Premedical Honor Society. He was an avid fan and supporter of the Greene Devil Football teams and enjoyed going to their games. He was honored with at a football helmet, signed by the football players in 2023. Dr. Adams was the caregiver for both of his parents until their deaths. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Pamela Baskett of Greeneville. Survivors include two brothers: Peter (Barbara) Adams of Duluth, GA, and William "Bill" (Pauline) Adams of Greeneville; nieces: Connie Adams of Tusculum, Tammy Adams Gregg, Jennifer Paxton of Sevierville, TN; nephew: Angelo Adams of San Francisco, CA; great-nephew: Tristan Adams; great-niece: McKenzie Stephenson of Sevierville, TN. There will be no formal services, per his wishes. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, November 30th, from 2 - 4 p. m. at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
