Mr. George Everett Skaggs, age 86, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Arbors of Delaware in Delaware, Ohio. He was born November 17, 1936, in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Everett Wilson and Elizabeth Goodman Skaggs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Skaggs; eight sisters, Mona Smith, Bertha Fouts, Nora DeBord, Ellen Barker, Mary Cox, Ruth Moore, Eva Fannin and Jean Boggs. George was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church and loved going to church. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force with 6 years of service and went on to work 37 years at General Motors in Mansfield, Ohio. He was a founder and a member of 504 Volunteer Fire Dept. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports, gardening, taking care of his Purple Martins, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. George and Marjorie traveled extensively around the world. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marjorie Stone Skaggs; three daughters, Kimberly (Floyd) Carver of Dublin, Ohio, Angela (Tim) Payton of Mansfield, Ohio, Mary (Mark) Bartlett of Dublin, Ohio; five grandchildren, George (Rebekah) Payton, Galen Bartlett, Leah (Tim) Hutchinson, Samuel Carver, Penny Carver; three great grandchildren, CJ Payton, Carter Payton and Mallie Payton; three sisters, Ezel (Cleo) Moore of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Wilma (Jesse) Steagall of Sandy Hook, Shirley (Junior) Lewis of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him. Funeral services will be held 11 a. m. , Friday, September 15, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel with Old Regular Baptist Elders officiating. Burial will follow in the Skaggs Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m. , Thursday, September 14, 2023 and after 9 a. m. , Friday, September 15, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky is caring for all arrangements for Mr. George Everett Skaggs.

Obituary of Lawrence Thomas Goetz It is with heavy hearts, that on Sunday July 25th, 2021 in Elmira, we announce the passing of Lawrence "Larry" Goetz, formerly of Delaware, in his 65th year. Cherished son of Gerald and Geraldine Goetz of Maryhill and the late Agnes Goetz (1990). Beloved husband of the Late Karen Goetz (Dec. 3rd, 2018). Loving father of Cory Goetz (Jennifer Larocque) of Mount Brydges and Cassidy Goetz, of Mississauga. Dear brother of Greg and Susan Goetz, of Elmira. Fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Survived by his sister-in-law Judy Hamel of B. C, Step Sisters Marlene (Al) Radke, Marylu Chabot, Step brother Len (Denise) Chabot. Sadly missed by his dear friend Luanne Hanes. Larry was a dedicated employee with Co-operators Insurance for 40+ years and was very involved in minor league sports in Delaware and surrounding area. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 10630, in Delaware. As per Larry's wishes, cremation has taken place. James "Jim Bo" Anthony Roberts, age 82, of Delaware, IN passed away on Friday June 19, 2020 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born March 28, 1938 in Batesville, Indiana; the son of the late Wayne and Virginia (Benham) Roberts. Jim grew up along with his brothers and sisters on the farm outside of Delaware. Jim attended school in Napoleon and was a graduate of the class of 1956. After graduation from high school, Jim enrolled in school at Purdue University. He, then, proudly served in the United States Army. After his service was complete, he returned home, where his sister would introduce him to Patricia Katzman from Mulberry, Indiana. His life would be changed forever and they were united in marriage on April 17, 1965. Recently they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with 3 children. Jim was well known by the local community. He spent 32 years working for Laughery Valley Ag Co-op. His work years began in the feed mill and ended up managing the farm store. Jim enjoyed attending and supporting his kids and grandkids in whatever event they were participating in. Jim never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with any willing soul. Upon retirement from the Co-Op, Jim spent a few years in the security department at the Versailles State Park. Jim was a lifelong Delaware United Methodist Church, a 50 plus year member of the Masonic Lodge, and member of the Versailles Legion Post. Jim is survived by wife Pat, sons Bill (Debbie) Roberts and Mark (Anne) Roberts, daughter Linda Hoffman, grandchildren; Andi, Crista, James, Nathan, Molly, Elizabeth, and Suzanne, brothers Bill (Virginia) of Vevay, John (Marsha) f Rochester, and David (Linda) of Manchester. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Billy Hoffman, and sisters Lois Workman and Laura Lou. Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 23 from 4-7 pm. at Neal's Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 24 at 10 am, with doors opening at 9 am, also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jac-Cen-Del Scholarship fund.
