Coleman 3 sisters, Mary Louise Coleman, Christine Robinson & Bernice Oliver, his son Derrick Coleman, one granddaughter, Ashawnti T. Terry preceded him in death. LeRoy confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church until his passing. LeRoy attended school in the Mississippi area until the 9th grade, then later he obtained his GED here in Kansas City, KS, he was very proud of his accomplishment. LeRoy worked at the Shoreline Mfg Company and then on to working for himself. He and his wife had a cleaning company called, L & L Cleaning Company where he worked until his health began to fail. LeRoy loved to play Old Grey Horse with his wife & daughter around the house, he enjoyed family vacations with the entire family at the Lake of the Ozarks. LeRoy loves sitting around the living room and telling his grandchildren about the good old days. Some of LeRoy's hobbies included fishing, walking in the park, and working in the garden where he would grow his vegetables. LeRoy was a family man, he always stressed the importance of family. For Thanksgiving we would travel to Mississippi to spend the holiday with his siblings & family, he looked forward to this because he could be bossy and get more spoiled and get that famous Pecan Pie he would ask his sister for. Nevertheless, LeRoy looked forward to this yearly. Every Christmas Eve was very special to him, he demanded that we all stay overnight at the house including all of his grandchildren, there were people everywhere, but he wouldn't have it any other way. LeRoy adored and loved his siblings. LeRoy leaves to cherish his life & legacy his beloved darling (as he called her) of 29 years, Lorene Sims-Coleman of the home.
