Obituary of George Sayko George E. Sayko Orrington- George E. Sayko, 91, husband of Virginia (Cammack) Sayko, died Feb. 4, 2019 at his home in Orrington after a period of declining health. He was born Sept 11, 1927 in Perry Township, PA. George served in the US Coast Guard during WWII and later served in the US Air Force as well. His work employers included W.T. Grants, Bancroft & Martin and Porteous. George and Virginia were longtime members of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa's Catholic Church, So. Main St., Brewer. George was a loyal fan of his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Maine Hockey Team. Surviving in addition to his wife of 62 years of Orrington are one son, Michael J. Sayko of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Sgt Keith Sayko of US Army stationed in Germany and Kristyn Sayko of Houston, TX; two half brothers, James and Howard Earl both of Chandler, AZ. He was predeceased by his daughter, Julie Sayko in 1979. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, Feb. 11, 2019 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa's Catholic Church, So. Main St., Brewer. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
