Martha Anne Boseski Obituary Martha Anne Boseski died on July 21 at Agape Hospice House in Lexington, SC. She was born in Charleston, the only child of Edward and Mary Boseski. Survivors include her oldest and most trusted friend, Kristina Krusmark of Homewood, Alabama. Martha Anne was an honor graduate of Ashley Hall School and Phi Beta Kappa at the University of South Carolina. She was fortunate to have studied at a variety of institutions, including the American Academy in Rome, Harvard University, Université Laval (Quebec) and the University of Georgia. She taught 35 years in South Carolina, from the mountains to the sea. She continued to tutor in her retirement and worked with students from PreK to college level. Always fearless in seeking knowledge, Martha Anne was compassionate in her care for others and beloved by her many pets. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Columbia, SC, where she served faithfully on the lay eucharistic visitor team. Her funeral will be held graveside at Christ Church Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, at 10am on Saturday, August 5th. The Rev. Dr. James Fraser Lyon IV will officiate. Family will visit with friends 1 hour prior to the service. A native of Columbia, Shelley was born January 1, 1967. She was a graduate of Richland Northeast High School. She was a valued employee of DHEC, Bureau of Vital Records and Bureau of Water, for more than 10 years. She was a dedicated and loyal employee of more than 10 years with Lloyd Buff Painting and Cleaning. She was a member of the National ASPCA and of the SCSPCA. Shelley is predeceased by her parents, William F. Baskins and Susan B. Cloud. She is survived by her stepfather, Robert O. Cloud; sister, Jeanne Love; her son, Robert Hayes; her nephew, Lee Grigsby; her niece, Paige Grigsby; her great-nieces and nephews, McKenzie Thomas, Jasmine Jacobs, Tripp Rhodes, Gracie Rhodes, Carter Hawkins, III; and additional friends and family, Billy Hayes, Melissa Hayes, Lloyd Buff, Becky Pulliam, and Dustin Godwin.

Lexington – Violet Drafts Myers, 89, a couple months short of her 90th birthday, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Lexington, SC. Her family had been by her bed side for the last several days. Born in Gilbert, SC, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Vesta Kaminer Drafts. Violet was a member of Beulah Methodist Church in Gilbert, SC and also attended Mt Hebron UMC in West Columbia, SC. She had retired from Atlantic Greyhound Bus Lines and then again from Baptist Medical Center. Violet loved her family very much but she especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Violet was an avid fisherwoman and gardener. She loved fishing on Lake Murray and in Murrells Inlet, SC. She volunteered throughout her life and spent many years volunteering for the Tiny Greyhound Youth Football and South Little League Baseball in Winston-Salem, continuing to volunteer in retirement at Lexington Interfaith Community Services, Lexington, SC and visiting local assisted living facilities. Violet is survived by her sons, Gary Taylor (Von) Lexington, SC, Carl Huffstetler (Sherry) Charlotte, NC, and David Huffstetler (Angie)Lexington, SC; her brothers, Robert Drafts of Gilbert, Donald Drafts of Lexington, and Harry R. Drafts of Cleveland; sisters, Peggy Mills of Piedmont, and Sharon Besancon of Lexington; and her 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Violet was predeceased by her husband, Herb Myers, her son, Terry Taylor, and her brothers, David Drafts and James Drafts. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Beulah United Methodist Church, 161 Beulah Church Road, Gilbert, SC, 29054. Pastor Tony Rowell will officiate. The family will have visitation and greet friends before the service in the church sanctuary prior to the service from 1:30-3:00. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Beulah Methodist Church or donate to the Alzheimer’s Association .

Rock Hill – Mrs. Ruth M. Sherer, 95, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Agape Hospice House of Lexington, S.C. Born in Smyra, S.C., Mrs. Sherer was the daughter of the late Blakely Moss and the late Viola Caldwell Moss. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Haskell Moss; and her sisters, Mary Long, Ella Gee, Cora Campbell and Lovine Moss. She worked at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home for 32 years as an office manager. She enjoyed sewing for her family; and creating things to make others smile. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church. She loved her lord. Mrs. Sherer is survived by her two daughters, Carol Leopold (Joe) from Charleston, S.C. and Kaye Blanchard (Zale) of Rock Hill, S.C.; her sisters Naomi Satterfield, Jewel Moss, Jackie Bagley and one brother, Jerry Moss; three grandsons, Shawn, Wes, and Bart and four great grandchildren Aspen, Braxton, Beau, and Bella.

"Babette Ineatha Boston “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge will give me on that day, and not me only, but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 Babette was born November 19, 1965, in Sumter, South Carolina, the third child of the late Reverend Benjamin Pleasant Boston, Sr. and Ineatha Gathers Boston. She departed this life for her eternal reward on February 20, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, South Carolina. She was truly the jokester of the family, always having laughter. Her early years of Christian service began by serving as a pianist for many churches during her father’s pastoral ministry. At the time of her passing, she was a member of the Antioch A.M.E. Church serving as Steward-Pro Tem, Missionary, Financial Secretary and Musician. Her passion was that of service to Christ working faithfully in the church doing whatever her hands found to do. She was a graduate of Sumter High School Class of 1984 and The University of South Carolina Class of 1988, always a Gamecock. At the time of her passing she was employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Osfred R. Boston and Benjamin P. Boston, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, M. Theophila Boston Murray (Alphonso) of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law Pamela Glover of Washington, DC; aunts, Henrietta Fields of North Charleston, SC, Dora Evans of Clinton, Mississippi; an uncle, Ernest Gathers (Osie) of North Charleston, SC; nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends."

Frances Rawl, 89, affectionately known as Mamaw, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Services will be Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Pisgah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Mims, Rev. Don Turner, and Rev. Leon Rawl officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at 2:00 pm at the church with the service to follow at 3:00 pm. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family. Born in Lexington, February 6, 1935, she was a lifelong member of Pisgah Lutheran Church. She retired from Hite’s Restaurant of Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Beulah Hallman. Frances enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking for others, gardening and Clemson Tiger Athletics. Mrs. Rawl is survived by her sister, Barbara Ann Dennis of Lexington; daughter, Wanda (Malcolm) Long of Lexington; and son, Danny (Lisa) Rawl of Newberry; grandchildren, Tony (Brandy) Long, Joey (Kim) Long, Patty (Chris) Wellman, Lori (Calvin) Shealy, all of Lexington, and Rhett Summer of Newberry; and 15 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Olive Lowe of Aiken. Mrs. Rawl was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Rawl, and great grandson Spencer Shirey.
