George G. Klehamer, 84, passed away on August 25, 2023, following a brief hospital stay. George was the son of Alma Johnson Klehamer and George M. Klehamer of Norristown, PA. George grew up in the same house in which he lived until his passing. Following his graduation from Norristown Area High School, George joined the Army. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He worked for many years at Montgomery Hospital in boiler maintenance. During these years he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and he enjoyed playing the organ and piano at various churches or events in the area. Following retirement, George spent many happy hours in his vegetable and flower garden. He continued to do so until this past year when his health and the hungry groundhogs became too challenging. George leaves behind many relatives and friends who love him. He was a lively and beloved member of his church and was a frequent fill-in organist for special events. He was also an enthusiastic organizer of the church potluck suppers and bake sales, and his love of all the fun and fellowship of Christmas was well known. George's cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by so many. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all in the community. A memorial service will be held at The Reformed Church of the Ascension United Church of Christ on Saturday, September 16th. Visitation at 10:30 AM will be followed by the service at 11:00 AM.
