George W Groesbeck, 85, of Manchester, died Saturday, September 9, 2023 at his home in Leisure Knoll. Born in Hoboken, New Jersey he grew up in North Bergen then lived in Fort Lee before moving to Ocean County in 1971. He worked in the banking industry for 27 years before retiring in 1997. George enjoyed living out his retirement in Leisure Knoll by enjoying his interests in poker, history, old cars and watching old movies, the Yankees and the NY Giants, in addition to traveling and spending time with his family. George is predeceased by his parents, George & Amelia Groesbeck and his sister Dorothy Groesbeck Powers. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruby F Groesbeck, son & daughter-in-law, James & Paula Groesbeck, daughter, Ellen Rodriguez, brothers, Robert and John Groesbeck, grandsons, Edward and William Rodriguez, & Alexander and Jacob Groesbeck. Visitation is Thursday 4-7 pm with a 6 pm service at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Interment is Friday 11 AM at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Edward J. Kovacs, 84, of Leisure Knoll section of Manchester, died Friday, March 12, 2021 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Perth Amboy, he had resided in Woodbridge & Pennsylvania before moving to Manchester 21 years ago. He worked for the Woodbridge Township Waste Water Department for 40 years retiring in 1995 as the Superintendent. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, & loved spending time with family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia (King) Kovacs; son and daughter in law, Edward J. Jr. & Dawn Kovacs; daughter and son in law, Kathy & Paul Piotrowski; sister, Helen Kurucz; 4 grandchildren: Eric McKee, Edward J. Kovacs III, Kelly Holden, & Danny Kovacs; and 6 great grandchildren. Cremation will be private. Inurnment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, at a later date.Show more

Antonio Ferraro

Antonio Ferraro, 89, of Leisure Knoll section of Manchester, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 at home. Born in Paolisi, Italy, he moved to the United States in 1965 residing in North Jersey before moving to Manchester in 1995. He graduated from the Instituo Statae D'Arte in Napoli, Italy and after World War 2, spent several years working in Venezuela. He had worked as an art painter for 30 years for Gannett Outdoor Billboards & Signs. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades - Local Union #1231, Newark; he loved many forms of art and was a great fan of St. Padre Pio. Antonio was predeceased by his wife, Maria Ferraro, in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Mariya Brady; brother, Vito; sisters: Felicetta & her husband, Carmine, and Anna Maria; niece, Teresa; nephews: Carlo & Gabe; and many nephews & nieces in Italy. Funeral Liturgy is Tuesday, 10am at St John Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733. Entombment will follow to St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
