George "Junior" Richard Elmer, 73, of Olivet, Michigan passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. He was born on December 30, 1948 to George Elmer, Sr. and Joann (Williams) Obtande in Muskegon, Michigan. George "Junior" worked as a Journeyman Plasterer independent contractor for many years in the Olivet and Lansing areas. He enjoyed collecting guns, watching movies and playing horseshoes. More than anything, he loved his family even though his stubborn personality didn't always show it. George "Junior" is survived by his children; George Richard Elmer, III of Bellevue, Michigan, Amanda (Eli) Marie Curren of Greer, South Carolina and Steffanie Kay Elmer of Olivet, Michigan, his grandchildren; Maygon Elmer, Mirian Elmer, Madison Elmer, George R. Elmer IV, Isabelle Simpson, Abigail Curren, Kathryn Curren, his great granddaughter, Katie Fetterman, and brothers; Cassidy Obtande and Richard Elmer. He was preceded in death by his parents his granddaughter; Morgan Elmer and his sister; Michelle Obtande. Private graveside services will take place at Bosworth Cemetery in Olivet, Michigan at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the to the family.
