Genevieve Catherine Barker Stemple, wife, mother, sister, and friend, died on June 20, 2022, peacefully and surrounded by family. Our beautiful “Jean” was the eldest of the 13 children of the late Eva and Roscoe Barker in Newburg, West Virginia. She and her husband lived in Rose Hill, Alexandria for 67 years and enjoyed working at the Alma Shop in the Rose Hill shopping center. Jean is survived by her husband of 74 years, William E. Stemple, daughter Donna Stemple, son Ronald Stemple (Susan McInerney), two step-grandchildren Kathleen McInerney and Bernard McInerney, five step-grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers, and many friends. A memorial celebration will be held in the future after internment at Arlington National Cemetery.
