Dorothy Mary Belanger "Dottie" 95, died peacefully Friday, February 16, 2024, at her home in Williamsburg, VA, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born May 5, 1928 in Proctorsville, VT. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Ernest E. Belanger, her parents George A. and Alice(LaCoille) Payne and 5 siblings. A loving Mom, she is survived by her children: Judith A. Mortensen Drouin and her husband Robert of Williamsburg, VA; Ernest A. Belanger and his wife Catherine of Williamsburg, VA; Charles A. Belanger and his wife Amy of Warwick, RI, and Fr. Sebastian Embrayil of India. She is beloved Memere to her four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and loving Aunt to several Nieces and Nephews. Dottie was an accomplished Seamstress and Designer all her life, creating daily and bridal wear, vestments, banners and linens for churches, and so much more. A longtime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church she donated her time and talents as Religious educator, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Choir and Past President of the Activities club. She was a founding member of the Holy Family Guild, Webster Chapter, and a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Most importantly, Dottie is remembered as a woman of faith, love and kindness. The tapestry of her life is woven with threads of love for her family, the treasure of life long friendships, kindness for those in need, the sound of her beautiful voice, and the peace and joy felt by those whose lives she touched. Fr. Richard Lee Johnson

Richard Lee Johnson (Dick), age 81, of Williamsburg, VA passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Dick was born in Auburn, IN, the oldest child of Wilbur and Cleo Johnson. He was enrolled at Tri-State College (now Trine University) and was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Dick graduated in 1967 with a bachelors in Business Administration. After being drafted, Dick trained as a combat medic at Fort Sam Houston, TX. Dick then later served in Berlin, Germany. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Expert (Rifle) Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin). For 31 years, Dick worked in the graphite business in manufacturing and sales at Union Carbide Corporation (Dow Chemical Company). He worked at several locations including: Cleveland, Atlanta, Fostoria, OH, Kansas City, MO, and Auburn, IN. On August 17, 1968, he married Sharron Peachey in Kendallville, IN. They had two sons, Brandon and Trenton. Upon retirement, Dick and Sharron moved to Williamsburg, VA. Dick was an active member of the community including: volunteering at the Kingsmill LPGA Championship, member of the Fords Colony Auto Enthusiasts (awarded the Big Wheel Award 2018), and St. Bede Catholic Church. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Cleo; sister, Melanie Rosetti; and daughter-in-law, Yvette Johnson. He is survived by his wife Sharron; sons, Brandon Johnson (Cary) of Marion, OH, and Trenton Johnson (Lanée) of Portsmouth, NH; grandchildren, Kyrie, Tate, and Tahlia; and brother Steve Johnson (Ruth Ann) of Edgerton, OH. A celebration of life will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Auburn, IN at a later date. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.NelsenWilliamsburg.com.

Robert H. Bloom (Bob) was born in New York City on January 6, 1931, and died on January 20, 2024, in Williamsburg, Virginia. Predeceased by his daughter Allison, he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Bloom, his sister-in-law Lynn Bloom, and nephew Laird Bloom (Sara). Bob graduated from the University of Michigan with a Juris Doctor Degree and a Master's in Tax Law from New York University School of Law. While in the U.S. Army, he served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG), where his major responsibility was resettling refugees from the Hungarian Uprising of 1956, primarily by arranging marriages for unwed couples who escaped together. Bob also played an active role in resolving the 1947 Texas City Disaster. He was a Partner of The Paskus, Gordon, and Mandel Law Firm, which merged with White and Case Law Firm in New York City, where he became Of Counsel. A member of Oasis Club, an international group of lawyers that met in major cities of the world, he and his wife traveled to the world's capitals. Highlights included a trip by Camel through the Negev Desert to a Bedouin Camp in Israel. They also went on safari in Africa's Maasai Mara Game Preserve and traveled the entire African continent. On another trip, they traveled by ship along the West Coast of Norway north to the Arctic Circle. Bob and Lois also pulled their horse trailer with pony and horse cross country from CT to Palo Alto, CA. Machu Picchu in Peru was also one of the many great adventures. Bob was an ardent golfer beginning in his early teenage years and continued throughout his life. He enjoyed the Aspetuck Valley Country Club in Weston, CT, where he was one of the founding members. Bob loved playing the golf courses in Williamsburg, VA, where he and Lois retired in 2012. Bob will forever be loved and remembered as a man of integrity and will be missed dearly. Robert's graveside service will be located at Aspectuk Cemetery in Easton on Saturday, February 3rd, at 11:30am.
