"Bruno Antonio Salazar Rodas (61), of Roy, Utah passed away on the evening of November 21, 2023. Per Bruno's request he was able to make it home where he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family who were together and unified more than ever. Bruno is preceded in death by his father Pedro, mother Flavia, & brothers Pedrito. He is survived by his wife Julia Berta de Salazar Velasquez: 4 treasured children & their spouses: Silvia Payne (Steven), Brigham (Cassandra), Kim (Alisha), and Michael (Jessee); 8 beloved grandchildren: Nicholas, Alex, Leslie, Annabel, Sam, Marcos, Gabby, & Lukas. Bruno was born to Pedro Salazar Yol & Flavia Rodas Hernandez on September 10, 1962. He grew up with a love of cars, airplanes, school, and volleyball. He graduated with a bachelor's in science & letters. He specialized and certified in construction drawing. He had the desire to go on to become a doctor. However, he ended up with an ultimatum decision from his parents to either become a doctor or join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He made the life changing decision to choose Christ. He was baptized and chose to serve a mission. He honorably served in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission. At the end of his mission, he met his future wife, Julia. After 1 date and a quick engagement, 1 month later they were married! Bruno was able to fulfill a dream of working around airplanes when he worked at Aviateca, a government owned airline company in Guatemala. He'd watch the airplanes day in and day out, as he dreamed of moving somewhere else in the U. S. one day. Because of incident at work that changed the course of his life along with his wife, and children, they were able to make their way seeking refuge for their lives in Utah. There were many helping hands on the way to start a new life. Some that will never be able to be repaid. Bruno continued alongside his supportive wife Julia to adapt, learn, grow, and survive anything for their 2 children and future children to come. After working at many companies, he was able to find a job working for UTA as a bus driver. He had a love for buses that he expressed to all of those around him. He proudly wore his Bus Driver number 4040! Unfortunately, there came a point where diabetes became something that caused a problem. He slowly began to lose his legs and his eyesight as well. After many ups and downs, he continued to try and work at UTA where he had the opportunity to be a inspector on TRAX all while in a wheelchair. He didn't want to have the things happening to him stop him from being around the trains & buses. He worked and retired from UTA in 2023. For those who knew him you knew his spirit and character was above and beyond anyone you'd ever meet. He lived to serve and to help. Let's not even get into how much he loved to talk your ear off as well as listening to your own stories with empathy. A man of so much experience, wisdom, memories, trials, and so much to overcome to be a good husband, a good father, a good son, a good brother, a good grandpa, and a good person in general. He was loved by everyone he met, and he lit up the room no matter where he was. He left a Mark in so many lives and will not be forgotten. November 16, 2023

We are saddened to announce the passing of our father, Richard Charles Montag at the age of 82. Dad passed away on November 11, 2023, after battling a long illness with cancer. He fought a hard fight, but ultimately his earthly body surrendered to his illness. Dad was born in Ogden, Utah on February 11, 1941 to Richard Paul and Velma Fowers Montag. As a child, he lived in Hooper until he married his first love, Joyce Barker, on April 4, 1963. They were sealed in the Logan, Utah Temple. After he was married, he moved with his new bride, to a home in Roy where, together, they raised six kids. After our mother passed away in 1991, he married a family friend, Myrna Offert. After their marriage ended, Dad was able to find love again, where he was married and sealed to Marcia Lee. Together they lived in his childhood home, where they remained, until recently. Throughout their marriage, Marcia showed our dad the unconditional love that he deserved. Dad was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served many callings. He served a valiant mission in Seattle, Washington where he was able to baptize many new members into the church. It was on his mission where he said he gained his own testimony. Dad was loved by so many people and met many friends along the way. He was admired for his artwork, in which he was an award-winning artist. He mastered many different mediums of art. Dad was able to pass along his talents to many people throughout the years, either through sharing his artwork or in teaching art classes. We will miss his family prayers where he was able to show us his undying faith in our Heavenly Father. Dad led his family through his example of hard work and selfless love of others. Dad didn’t have a contentious bone in his body and had a gift of forgiveness. He is survived by his wife Marcia Lee Montag, his children Richard (Trisha) Montag, Julie (Dirk) Nelson, Mitchell (Malia) Montag, Jenny Thompson, Kristy (Clint) Colvin, Jared (Tennelle) Montag.
