"Virginia Lee McHam, 85, of Memphis, Texas died Thursday, February 8, 2024 in Childress, Texas. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2024 in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Rev. Anthony Knowles, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis. Virginia was born February 18, 1938 in Red River County, Texas to O.B. Walker Sr. and Ocie Lee Osburn Walker. She had been a housekeeper prior to her retirement and had been a resident of Memphis for several years. She enjoyed playing games, listening to music, making bead art, Christmas ornaments, and was very crafty. She deeply loved her grandkids and great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bobby Jack Saxon; her brothers, Oscar Walker, Jr. and Wendell Walker; her sisters, Jeanette McHam and Wenell Schull; and two grandchildren, Ashlie and Mindy Wiggins. Survivors include her daughter Sheila Wiggins and husband Doug of Memphis; a sister, Zoda Farris of Memphis; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to Fairview Cemetery Association / PO Box 265 / Memphis, TX 79245."

John Tiechroeb, son of Jacob and Tina Teichroeb, was born on March 12, 1981 in Andrews, Texas. John married, Lena Dyck, daughter of John and Sara Dyck, on August 25, 2002. Lena and their four children, Landon, Lacy, Bo and Paisley were the center of his world. Besides loving and serving his family, he loved Jesus with all his heart. His love for the Lord overflowed from within and splashed onto everyone he met. John enjoyed serving men at men’s encounter, sharing his joy and God‘s love with them. John truly lived an abundant and full life. John will be missed so very much.

Euletha Mae (Green) Hood, an 11-year resident of Wellington, passed away in Childress on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the age of 104. A visitation and celebration of life gathering will on Sunday, February 25th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be a 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2nd at Bogata Cemetery in Bogata, TX. Cremation arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Lee was born on August 17, 1919, in Tatum, NM, to Emmett Martin and Virgie Houston Green. A champion typist and good at shorthand and spelling, she graduated from Tatum High School in 1937 and earned her degree from Draughon’s Business College in Lubbock, where Lee met her future husband, Buford Hood. They married and raised their family at Lake Brownwood near Brownwood, TX. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, 2 children Bruce and Loretta, 2 grandchildren Mecheall and Gary, all 6 of her siblings, and her husband. Her survivors include her daughter Sandra Daniel and husband Lyman of Wellington; 8 grandchildren Karen and Bruce Allen both of College Station, Hallie of San Antonio, Alicia of Pflugerville, Sheldon of Burleson, Renee of Brenham, Ginger of Del Rio, and Doug of Childress; 19 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. Barbara Ray, age 85, passed away on January 20, 2024 in Childress, Texas. Services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, January 26, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Childress with Kerry Wood officiating and he will be assisted by Norman Jones. Family visitation will be from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Barbara was born on July 1, 1938 to J.C. Norman and Rhuia (Neeley) Norman in Quail, Texas. Barbara graduated in Quail, Texas with the Class of 1956. It was in Quail where she met her husband, W.L. Ray. She and W.L. married on January 9, 1957 and remained married for 63 years until his passing. Barbara and W.L. loved to square dance and were members of the Childress area bowling league in their earlier years. They both loved to travel, but visiting Branson on Veteran’s Day always held a special place in their hearts. Barbara was a master seamstress who always kept an immaculate home. She was a natural caretaker who would do anything and everything for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, W.L. Ray. Barbara is survived by: Son - Nathan L. Ray and wife, Sheryl of Houston, TX. "Joe Lee Williams, 73, of Estelline, Texas died Thursday, January 18, 2024 in Childress, Texas. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2024 in the First Baptist Church in Memphis. Burial will follow in Estelline Cemetery in Estelline. Viewing will be held Wednesday at the funeral home with visitation from 4:00-6:00 PM. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis. Joe Lee Williams was born September 1, 1950 in Big Sandy, Tx to Lee Ella and Theo Williams. Joe Lee attended school in Memphis before integration, and then on to Estelline school where he graduated in 1968. Joe Lee was dedicated to farming alongside his parents, he later transitioned to beef packing at IBP. Joe Lee had a true passion for his job and it led him to become a supervisor. After dedicating more than 20 years to his career, he retired. Joe Lee went to be with the Lord hand in hand with his sister Mary Ann Drew on January 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lee Ella “Granny” Williams and Theo “Crawdad” Williams; daughter, Summer Sheree Williams; sister, Mary Ann Drew, nephew, Benny Ray Williams Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Shelly Harris, son Brock Williams, 5 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 5 great-grandsons, brothers Theo Williams, Jr., Tommy Lee Williams , Ivory Lee Williams , sisters Mary Lee Acosta , Ella Mae Drew, Pearlie Ann Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. (Dill) Kelso in Oklahoma City, OK. Ann served our community as a Nurses Aide at Childress Regional Medical Center for 27 years. Ann was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and she would be the first to say, “How about them Cowboys!”. She loved to cook and she was known for her chicken and dumplings and banana pudding. She loved to have her family over to her house for card games and dinner which she called “Garden Trash Night”. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronny Lee Thorn; sister, Pauline Mills; sister, Gwen Court; sister, Thelma Wright; brother, Harland Kelso; sister, Frances Tullos; sister, Johnnie Borton; sister, Trudy Hite. Marsha was born on October 7, 1944 to Donald Mark Burritt and Erma Edge (Weaver) Burritt in Clarinda, Iowa. Marsha graduated from Kirtland, New Mexico with the Class of 1963. Shortly after, she met married the love her life, Eddie in Shiprock, New Mexico on August 14, 1965. Marsha loved to watch her kids, grandkids and great grandkids play sports and dance. She loved fishing and camping in Fun Valley, Colorado. She collected gingerbread man items and used this as term of endearment for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randall Burritt; brother, Richard Burritt; brother, Donald Burritt; sister, Linda Payne; sister, D’Ann Freeman.
