Gary W Thomas, 63, of Wenona passed away October 7, 2023 at a OSF St Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona with Pastor Peter Glock officiating Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery Visitation will be in Zion Lutheran Church Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of services The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting the family with arrangements Gary was born in Streator on January 2, 1960 to Jack and Darlene Thomas He married Sandy Seipp on September 8, 1989 Gary worked at service stations as a mechanic Gary enjoyed blues music and attending blues concerts He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs Gary is survived by his wife, Sandy; three stepchildren Christopher (Michelle) Vivian, Donnie Vivian, and Laura Ann Foster; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister Sally (Rick) Renner; brother Jack (Janice) Thomas; and uncle Richard Thomas He was preceded in death by his parents To to the family or in memory of Gary W Thomas, please

Denise M. Etscheid Sabotta, 98 of La Salle, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023 surrounded by her family in Allure of Peru. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Friday December 8, 2023 in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until time of services on Friday. Private burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in La Salle. Denise was born in London, England on December 26, 1924 to Daniel and Vere (Towler) Loeney. She married Elwood "Woody" Etscheid on May 12, 1945 and then married Ron Sabotta on May 1, 1971. She was a Docent at Hegeler Carus Mansion. Denise received a Bachelor Degree of Education at Northern Illinois University. She was a seamstress, made custom teddy bears and enjoyed painting. She owned and operated a sign shop and bridal shop. She volunteered for the City of La Salle events and American Red Cross. She won the Women of Distinction Award in 2015. Denise is survived by fourteen children, Michael Etscheid of Ottawa, Yvonne Crowe of Danielsville, GA, Daniel Etscheid of Peru, Peter (Rayanna) Etscheid of Peru, John (Cheri) Etscheid of Cedar Point, Ann-De Bailey of Jefferson City, TN, Stephanie Etscheid of Utica, Jackie (Warren) Norris of La Salle, Paul (Jeri) Etscheid of La Salle, Francine Etscheid of Sterling Heights, MI, Mark (Sherrie) Etscheid of Magnolia and Michele (Chuck) Baarck of Harrison Township, MI; one step-son John (Joanne) Sabotta of La Salle: her love of her life Jerry Reynolds of La Salle; thirty five grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
