Gary Cole, age 74, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023. He was born September 14, 1948, in Jackson, MO. Gary was a United States Navy Veteran serving in Viet Nam. He is survived by two sons, Matt and Eric Cole; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside service will be 9 AM Friday, September 15, 2023, at Fort Smith National Cemetery.

Nancy "Nanny" Lamoreux, 71, of Fort Smith, was a beloved member of the Fort Smith community. She passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Nancy was born on July 9, 1952, in Charleston, where she grew up and attended Northside High School. After completing her education, she embarked on a successful career, becoming the previous owner of the Well Liquor and Jenny Lind One Stop. Her dedication and hard work made her a respected figure in the business community. Nancy's warm and kind-hearted nature endeared her to everyone she met. She was known for her infectious smile and selfless demeanor. Her friends and family will always cherish the memories of her unwavering care and beauty inside and out. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed indulging in her passion for gardening as a member of the River Valley Master Gardeners. Her green thumb was evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her home. Nancy's devotion to her family was unparalleled. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kelly Acosta, and her husband Kermit; her son, Thomas Lamoreux, and his partner Kristen Qualls; her sister, Kathy Rogers, and her husband Larry; her cherished granddaughter, Hannah Horn, and her husband Chad; her granddaughters, Jadyn, Katelyn, and grandson Justin Qualls; and her great-grandchildren, Owen and Millie Horn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn and Lawrence Myers, and her beloved husband, Tom Lamoreux. To honor Nancy's life, a visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10th, from 2pm to 4pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Funeral Service for Leon Skaggs, 66 of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Liberty Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. He was born on December 12, 1956 in Bakersfield, California to Pauline (Ellis) Skaggs and Frank Skaggs and passed away on December 5, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Teresa (Waldron) Skaggs on November 11, 1978 in Mustang, Oklahoma. Mr. Skaggs worked in maintenance at Norton Alcoa in Fort Smith. He loved spending time with family, watching westerns, fishing and being outdoors. Survivors are the love of his life for 45 years, Teresa of the home; two daughters, Tonya Richards and Josh Peters of Roland, OK and Cindy Armer and Rodney of Roland, OK; one granddaughter that was his pride and joy, Michala Richards; bonus grandchildren, Raven McCleod, Ashton Peters, Colton Peters and Ramie Peters; four sisters, Janice , Donna , Boochie Diann and Debbie; four brothers, Stanley, Lonnie, Danny and Timmy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, hunting buddies and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and big brother, Steve Skaggs. Active Pallbearers will be Chief Skaggs, Josh Peters, JJ Johnson, Chad Place, Chris Hamrick and Dustin Skaggs. Patsy Ruth Wright, 88, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, as the sun rose the morning of Monday, December 4, 2023. She was born on June 26, 1935, in Norco, California to loving parents Cammie Joseph and Glenna Willis (Morrell) Hacker. Patsy married Jonathan Cecil Wright on June 20, 1953, and in 1981 they moved from Southern California to Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert Lee Hacker and Lloyd Leslie Hacker, her husband of 60 years and a son, Jonathan Brian Wright. After moving to Arkansas, Jon and Patty spent their time camping and enjoying the summers with their grandchildren. The oldest grandchildren, Kara and Gregg, spent every summer from 1982 to 1995 at their grandparents getting a taste of the south. During that time along came three more grandchildren, Seth, Mattie and Alex, for her to shower her love of cooking and gardening on. Patty loved bowling and was on a league for many years when she first moved to Fort Smith. She was passionate about reading and loved her family with a huge heart. Patsy is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lee Berry and husband Sam Berry of Mountainburg, Arkansas, and her son, Darren James Wright of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Kara McCubbin (McDaniel) and husband Kenneth of Mulberry, Arkansas, Gregg McDaniel and wife Shelly of Desert Hot Springs, California, Seth Wright of Fort Smith, Mattie Wright of Fort Smith and Alex Wright of Fort Smith; great -grandchildren, Glenna McCubbin, Jonathan Link Wright, Luke McDaniel, Nora McDaniel and Paige McDaniel; and her cat, Zelda. Jon and Patsy also shared their love as grandparents to both Jayme Norton and Amber Mitchell. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff with Heart of Hospice, especially Alley and Tracey. David retired as a Service Manager with Black Hill Energy and also volunteered as a Boy Scout Master. David is preceded in death by his daughter, Joni Leigh Burns; and parents, John and Alice Robison. He was born on July 14, 1948, in Talihina, Oklahoma, to Emma and Winston Davis. A lifetime resident of Southeast Oklahoma, Jeffrey's deep roots in his community were reflected in his commitment to his heritage as a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Elders. He led a life characterized by his devotion to family, friends, and a wide array of interests that brought him immeasurable happiness. Throughout his life, Jeffrey embraced the simple pleasures of beading, hunting, fishing, and engaging in joking around and storytelling. He had a deep love for traveling, going to concerts and the casino, and never passed up the chance to indulge in a good crossword puzzle. Above all, watching episodes of Tom and Jerry brought him laughter and memories worth cherishing. Jeffrey was best known for his loving nature, especially demonstrated in the joy he took from spoiling his grandchildren with Little Debbie Snacks, Big Red, and Mountain Dew. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents: Emma and Winston Davis; his sisters: Norma and Teresa; his brothers: Winston Jr. , Willis, John, Raymond, and Gerald; and his son: Jeffrey Jr. Jeffrey is lovingly remembered by his son: Jonathan and wife Jeannine of Fort Towson, Oklahoma; his adored grandchildren: Cobi, Joel, Adam, Cade, Winston, Cathryn, Donaven, and Cameron; and his cherished great-grandchildren: Katie and Stella, who brought great joy into his life; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
