Gary Lynn "Mug" Carter, 66, of O'Brien, FL passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023. The Logan County, West Virginia native moved to O'Brien, FL 9 years ago from North Carolina. He was a long-haul truck driver for 25 years and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Carter is survived by his Nephew: Jason Edward Paul, O'Brien; Sisters: Goldie Robertson, Bartow, Oma A. Marquez Lopez, O'Brien, and Lana Cahill (Don), Naples; He was preceded in death by his parents: Loranzie D. & Macie Mae Carter: Sisters: Judith Mitchell Paul and Delores Carter; Brother: Eldered D. Mary Lee Terpening, age 91, went to be with Jesus on October 12, 2023. Mary was born on April 28, 1932 in the Bellevue, Michigan area, to Cleon and Lena (Keith) Oaster. Mary married William Terpening on June 7, 1948. They had four children, twins June Bryan (Jim) and Joan Cranmore Workman (Charles), Kenneth Terpening (Ruth) and Bonnie Eisner Frye (Ron). In Mary's younger years she enjoyed many motorcycle trips, rock hunting and reading books. She loved horses, contesting and camping with them, dancing and spending time with family. Mary lived in the Hastings and Nashville area most of her life, with the exception of four years in Texas. In 1986 she went back to school and received her high school diploma. Mary worked at Flexfab, Hastings Manufacturing, The Medical Care Facility, The Department of Social Services (California) and had a riding stable for 2 years. Mary is survived by her children, sister-in-law Marilyn Oaster, nine grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Jody White. She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Oaster (Jane), Roland Oaster (Marilyn), sister Roberta Foote McDonald, son-in-law James R. Bryan and grandson Shawn Bryan. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 10:00am to 12:00 noon Friday, October 20th at the Thornapple Valley Church on M43 in Hastings, MI. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at the church at 12:00 noon, with a luncheon to follow. Beulah Mae Erridge, Age 84 of, Hastings, MI passed away peacefully on October 07, 2023, at home in Hastings, MI Beulah was born in Stanton, MI, on August 10, 1939, the daughter of the late Emma and L. D. Erridge. She was raised in Stanton MI and attended local schools graduating from Stanton High School in 1957. After graduating, Beulah relocated to the Hastings area where her sister Pauline got her a job at Hastings Manufacturing where she worked faithfully 30 years before retiring in the late 1980's. While working at Hastings Manufacturing Beulah met her beloved friend Patricia Shaw. They quickly developed a beautiful friendship sharing many common interests which included a deep love of their faith and church. Pat retired shortly after Beulah, and they dedicated their lives to serving their church family at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. For many years Beulah organized and ran "Bingo", and made donuts for each of the members to enjoy after Saturday Mass. Her passion for helping children was also realized in the countless hours she spent volunteering at St. Rose school. Her children's ministry was not limited to church & school; she dedicated her life to providing a safe haven in her home for many local children who had no place to go, often at no expense to the families who needed childcare. In their spare time, Beulah and Pat enjoyed traveling to many destinations and bringing along family members. Beulah was survived by her beloved friend Pat, her sister Audrey Leslie. She was preceded in death by her sisters Maxine, Virginia, Pauline, Lois, brothers Max, Pat & Bernard Erridge. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, in Hastings MI with Father Jeff Hanley officiating. Immediately following the Funeral Mass, guests are invited to remain at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for a time of fellowship and luncheon provided by Beulah's beloved church family. Interment will take place privately at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Hastings, MI. Sidney Jackson Lord, 83, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023, surrounded by his family. Sidney was born on the family farm on March 21, 1940, the 2nd child and only son of Andrew Jackson and Louise (Mills) Lord. He was a life-long Suwannee County resident and a 1958 graduate of Suwannee High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America and played football. He served in the National Guard and was a Mason as well as a Shriner. He was a 5th generation farmer for over 65 years. Sidney was heavily involved in the community serving as a Trustee for District 5 at Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative and on the board of the Suwannee County Farm Bureau. He was the chairman of the State Tobacco Advisory Board for over 30 years. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in McAlpin, a congregation established by his great-great grandfather in 1876. Mr. Lord is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia, his daughter, Adrienne Lord (Kevin) Grant, his son, Sidney Jackson (Michelle) Lord, Jr. , sister, Barbara Lord (Jeffrey) Barber, brother-in-law, Leonard Hogle, 3 stepsons: Lamar (Yvette) Wheeler, Virgil Wheeler and Jeffrey Wheeler. Sidney was lovingly called "Papa" by his 10 grandchildren: Reverend Carter Suzanne Grant, Jarrett Grant, Meredith Lord, Natalie Lord, Samuel Jackson Lord, Audrey Lord, Jacob Lord, Jonah Lord, Erryn Wheeler and Shannon Wheeler. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Janice Carter Lord, and 2 sisters: Nancy Louise Lord and Dr. Dorothy L. Lord. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, November 17 from 6:00-8:00PM at Daniels Memorial Chapel, Live Oak, FL. Funeral services will be held at Philadelphia Baptist Church, on Saturday, November 18 at 11:00AM with Leroy Dobbs officiating and Sidney's granddaughter, Reverend Carter Grant, delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Sidney was a loyal supporter of the Shoebox Ministry at his church.
