Gail Overacker, 69, longtime Stillwater resident passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 20, 2022, at her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma. Gail was born August 27, 1952, in Guymon, Oklahoma to proud parents Kenneth and Marie (Jennings) Holmes. She grew up in the Welling/Tahlequah area. On December 28, 1973, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edgar by Brother Alan Moss in Welling, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with one son in 1982 whom she loved and adored, Mark. In 1984, Gail was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn along with her husband. The family lived in Welling for 13 years, then moved to Alturas, California for 8 years before settling in Stillwater in 1996. Gail was a devoted wife and mother and loved being there for her family. They did everything together from vacations to running Mark's lawncare business, they were rarely apart. Gail had a sincere love for the brethren and enjoyed cooking and planning church dinners. She enjoyed crafting and helping decorate the church for holidays and events. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Kenneth Holmes, Anthony Paul Holmes, Sharon Holmes, Carol Christie, Dorothy Sweet, and Wanda James. Gail is survived by her husband Edgar of over 48 years and son Mark of the home; and one brother, Dalton Holmes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and brethren. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Church of the Firstborn, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow services at Parkland Cemetery.
