After growing up and graduating from high school in Rhode Island, Gail moved to middle Georgia around 1970. She began working in the lunchroom at Perry Elementary School, working hard, loving and serving the young children she saw through the line every day of the many school years she was there. She was eventually promoted to Assistant Manager. When Matt Arthur Elementary School opened in 1999, Gail had earned the opportunity to "open" the new school's lunchroom as the Manager. She retired after nearly thirty years of service with the Houston County Board of Education. Gail attended Second Memorial Baptist Church, now The Exchange Church, and enjoyed learning from Dr. Tracy Brinson and Rev. Chad Simmons through the years. Gail loved collecting Angels and accumulated quite a lovely collection. She was delighted each time she traveled to the warm ocean water and dug her feet into the sand. Most important to Gail, though, was spending time with her beloved family and friends. Gail was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Johnny McKeever, and a son-in-law, Bobby Eugene Collins. Left to cherish the memories they made with Gail are her devoted daughters, Julie Collins and Jennifer Green, both of Perry; her grandchildren, Jessica Doherty, Shayna Jones (Kevin), and Landen Brown; her great-grandchildren, Brantley, Gracie, Kaybrien, Jamie Lynn, Liam, and Makayla; and her nephew, Johnny McKeever, III.
