Fredrick Payne Obituary

Fredrick Horace Payne, age 84, of Southgate, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Fred was born in Highland Park to the late Helon and Julia (nee Schuman) Payne. Beloved husband of Marge for 13 wonderful years. Loving father of Fred Jr. (Debbie), Eddy, Pam (Mark) and Kim (Dave). Dearest grandfather of Brandi, Josh (Danielle), Andrew, Klint, Nathan, Heather (Tommy), Mark, Audrey, Matthew and great grandfather of Grace, Carson, Alani, Mahalia, Kaitlyn, Cayliegh, Jayden and Christian. Cherished brother of the late Paul. Fred was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War 1960-1963 and a member of the American Legion. He was proud that both of his sons also completed military service. Fred's fondest childhood memory was playing piano recitals. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, reading or finding peace in classical music. Most of all, he truly enjoyed time spent family, especially watching his grandchildren grow up. A Visitation for Fred will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 34567 Michigan Avenue, Wayne, Michigan 48184, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
