Paul F. Lahr, age 94, of La Grange, MO passed away, Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at his home near La Grange. Paul was born December 10, 1928 near Canton a son of Lucian H. and Emma L. Meierant Lahr. He married Hilda Elnora Hunt on June 10, 1956 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Hannibal, MO. She survives. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in La Grange where he served in a number of ways with its various ministries. Paul was retired from the Highland C-1 School District as a decades long bus driver and was a lifelong farmer on the same farm that he has lived on since the age of one. Paul was on the first board of directors of the Luther Manor Nursing Home in Hannibal and he and his wife were awarded for 45 years of service to the Manor in 2017. He was a collector of John Deere two cylinder tractorsSurvivors include his wife of the home; children, Bonnie (Larry) Toliver of Palmyra, MO and Bob (Kelly) Lahr of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Carrie (Dan) Blickhan of Palmyra, Christopher (Rachel) Litteken of Hannibal, MO, Brandon (Diane) Lahr of La Grange, Drew (Sara) Lahr of Columbia, Blake (Lindsey) Lahr of Republic, MO and Shelby Lahr and Storm of Republic; great grandchildren, Bradi Lahr, Elizabeth (Liz) Deming, Brynlea Lahr, Beckett Lahr, Amelia Blickhan, Mason Lahr, Ada Lahr, Ethan Blickhan and a granddaughter to be born in November, sisters in law, Roberta Hunt of Minnesota and Luella Hunt of Hannibal, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, son in law Mike Litteken, brother's and sister's in law, Merlin and Norma Earlywine and Walter and Betty Hunt, brother in law Wilbert Hunt and one nephew Bobby Hunt. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in La Grange with Pastor Wes Gehrke officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, La Grange, MO. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 p. m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or to Hospice of Northeast Missouri in care of Davis Funeral Home, P. O. Box 146, La Grange, MO 63448. Mr. Robert G. Swearingen, age 80, of La Grange, MO passed away, Monday, April 17, 2023 at 11:02 p. m. at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born June 11, 1942 in Sand Hill, MO a son of Floyd and Sylvia M. Bowen Swearingen. He married Loma Clara Downs on June 20, 1964 in Hamilton, IL. She died August 21, 2006. Bob enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, the national enquirer crossword puzzle and also enjoyed going to fall festivals with his novelties that he sold. He also liked to fish, trap and raise a garden. Bob enjoyed watching westerns including Gunsmoke, Bonanza and Laramie. He had been employed by Electric Wheel and later Sheller Globe where he retired. Bob owned and operated Bob's Glass in La Grange for several decades. Survivors include his daughter, Pamela Campbell of La Grange, MO; son, Matthew (Wendy) Swearingen of Canton, MO; one granddaughter, Nikki Campbell of La Grange, MO; great granddaughter, Josie Campbell also of La Grange; and several brothers in law, sisters in law and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Loma, and infant son Gregory Allen Swearingen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April, 22, 2023 at 10:00 a. m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange with Rev. Barry Pfister officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, IL. Visitation will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 4:00 p. m. until 7:00 p. m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange. The family suggests memorials be made to the La Grange Youth Center. Rosemary Lewis of La Grange, MO went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Rosemary was born June 19, 1927, a daughter of Allie and Maggie Hickman. Rosemary loved the Lord and was a member of Green Chapel Baptist Church of La Grange. She married the teenage love of her life Henry Lewis Jr. on January 2, 1943. They were married for 57 years. He preceded her in death. She loved her family; and her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren were her life. Surviving are her children; Roy (Ottie) Lewis of LaBelle, MO, Robert (Cindy) Lewis, Allen Lewis of Quincy, IL, Jackie (Claude) Humphrey, Doug (Stacey) Lewis, Connie Tasco, Cindy (James) Dade, Diane Eston, and Randy Lewis all of La Grange; 23 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, daughter Pat, son Ronnie, daughter Sharon and a grandson Gardell. She was the last of the Golden Girls which consisted of her 3 sisters, Thelma, Velma and Mildred. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Jack and Calvin Hickman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 12:00 p. m. at Davis Funeral Home in La Grange with Minister Dane Humphrey conducting the services. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, La Grange, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 a. m. until time of services at 12:00 in the funeral home. Mr. Carl Willie Sivels Sr. , age 80, of La Grange, MO went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2023. He was born November 20, 1942 in Colp, IL a son of Carl Wilton and Helen Marie Day Sivels. He married Frances Lynn Lewis on July 12, 2008 in La Grange, MO after a 37 year relationship. Carl went to Southwest High School in Springfield, IL. He worked at John Deer Foundry for 31 years as a waste treatment operator also President Casino for 13 years as a deck hand and Metropolitan Medical Lab as a Lab Deliverer. He enjoyed going to car shows with bro Wayne, jazz festivals, the casino, dog and horse races, playing cards, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Frances of La Grange; daughters, Shelley (Mark) Smith of Davenport, IA, Nikki (Geoffrey) Davis of Marietta GA, Shelley Deering of California and a niece raised as a daughter, NaJa Chamber of Davenport; sons, Daryle Sivels, Shonton Sivels, Ryan Lewis all of Davenport, IA, Carl Sivels Jr. of Iowa City, IA, Corey (Leah) Clark of St. Louis, MO, Mark (Slimm) Lewis of La Grange; sister in law, Cherry Sivels, Marquetta (Robert) Magruder of Rock Island, IL, Stephanie Jones of La Grange; brother in law, Wayne Lewis Jr, Tony (Vicki) Lewis both of Quincy and Kerry Lewis of Mexico, MO; 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and a great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; aunts, Marilyn, Audrey, Linda, Renee and Dedra; uncles William, Keith and Sonny; his buddies, Larry Moore, Ned Kerr, Donald Beard Sr. , Sherman (Red) Robinson, Virgil Mayberry, Sam Nanss and Ronell. Funeral services will be hled Friday, January 27, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange with Pastor Dane Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in La Grange.
