Fredric (Fred) D. Lewis Born in Manhattan, Fred attended the Adelphi Academy in Brooklyn after his letter to Hogwarts got lost in the mail. Fred went on to graduate from the University of Denver, after declining to be trained as a Jedi due to the Jedi Council's oddball elitism and their silly restrictions against personal attachments. Fred was recognized with the highest accolades, including Top Salesman, by his employers Bridgeport Machine and Richard's Microtool; the former being involved in the research and development of top secret field technologies for MI6 (You're welcome, Mr. Bond), and the latter being a subsidiary of Pym Tech playing an essential role in the advancment of our working understanding of "Pym Particles" for practical applications (You're welcome, half the universe). Fred was a connoisseur of hot sauces, an avid collector of model cars, and the highest winning Jeopardy contestant of all time hypothetically. Survived by his son Alexander, his daughter Elizabeth, and his wife Margo; Fred will be reunited on the other side by his father Arthur, his mother Anne, his brother Peter, and all the pets he ever loved (there were a lot). Fred's family suspects he will be excited to use wisdom only accessible from beyond the veil to solve all of the conspiracy theories that piqued his interest during life. His family trusts that Fred knows his ghost is more than welcome to pop in for a visit when possible. In the meantime, he will be missed immensely.

Robert Cook

Surrounded by his family, Robert W Cook Jr. (Bob) passed away peacefully at Life Care Center of Plymouth on December 5th, 2023, at the age of 82. Robert was born in Weymouth, MA on August 6th, 1941, the oldest child of seven, to Robert and Frances Cook. In 1959, Robert joined the United States Marine Corps where he would achieve the rank of Corporal until his honorable discharge in 1963. In 1967, Bob was married to his soulmate, Lois Bernadette Reardon who would remain by his side until the day of his passing. Robert and Lois moved into their home in Kingston, MA in 1969 where they would raise their three children (Marianne Benevides (Cook), Robert Leo Cook and Suzanne (Suzy) Demartini (Cook). They remained residents of Kingston for the next 42 years before moving to Plymouth, MA in 2010. They would be blessed with 8 wonderful grandchildren (Aaron, Hayley, Jessica, Ashlynn, Samantha, Skylar, Jake, and Sydney) who would be the light of their grandpa's life right up until his passing. Robert was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kingston and Saint Kateri Church in Plymouth and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus #4480. Robert was always very active in his community and served in many capacities for both Kingston Youth Hockey and Kingston Youth Soccer organizations. Robert was employed as an Elevator Mechanic for Otis Elevator throughout his working life, retiring after four decades to become a full time grandpa serving as mentor, chauffeur, companion and biggest and proudest fan to his many grandchildren. Robert is survived by his wife Lois; daughter Marianne (and Rick) Benevides; son Robert (and Heather) Cook; daughter Suzanne (and Greg) Demartini ; granddaughters Jessica Benevides, Hayley Cook, Ashlynn Cook, Samantha Demartini, Skylar Cook and Sydney Demartini; grandsons Aaron Benevides and Jake Demartini; beloved cat Riley; siblings Arthur Cook, Linda Littlefield, Ken Cook, Robin Cook, 17 nieces and nephews, their partners, and their children; best friend Ron Delorenzo and so many other amazing friends who were always considered a part of his family. He was predeceased by parents Robert W. and Frances (Bicknell) Cook; sister Karen Troupe, brother Jon Cook; brother-in-law Jerry Littlefield; brother-in-law Michael Hill; niece Bethany; and great-nephew Liam. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8pm on December 15th at the Shepherd Funeral Home at 216 Main Street in Kingston, MA. Judith Morris

Judy White Morris of Duxbury passed away on November 27 at the age of 78 after a long illness. Judy was the second daughter born to Stanley and Janice (Buck) White on April 25, 1945. She was raised in Holbrook by her mother and father along with two sisters and a brother. Always a creative person, Judy was voted "Most Artistic" in her high school class. She went on to attend Massachusetts College of Art for painting in the 1960's. Following that, she used her painting and graphic design skills, along with her singular fashion sense, in her job as head designer for the Filene's Department Store in Boston until it sadly closed its doors for the final time decades later. Judy's responsibilities included designing and managing the installation of seasonal store displays for all Filene's locations. Her storefront Christmas holiday window displays drew crowds of shoppers to the area each year so that they could determine whether Judy's Filene's window designs were again superior to the Macy's display across the street. During that time, Judy continued to produce her own artwork which could be found for sale in art shops along Charles Street, close to where she lived for many years on Beacon Hill. A huge fan of rock and roll, Judy and her husband Mitch never missed an opportunity to see their favorite bands, the Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop and many others live at the local concert venues. Her extensive rock band t-shirt collection was to be admired. After her retirement, Judy and Mitch and their beloved cats moved to their house in Duxbury. There she continued to make paintings, elaborate holiday, birthday and special occasion cards, and spend time with her extended family. Her 4th of July gatherings were a yearly highlight for family and friends. Judy is survived by her husband Mitch Miller of Duxbury, sister Elizabeth White of Yarmouthport, brother Norman White and his wife Donna, of Pembroke. She was the aunt to Scott Fader and his wife Laura of Hanover and Nicole White of Crockett CA. Judy was predeceased by her sister Linda Fader and husband Robert. Judy was an incredibly kind, thoughtful and beautiful woman who is already missed by those who love her. Visitation hours will take place on December 16th from 10am to 12 at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. , Kingston MA. A graveside service will take place at a later date. Walter Peter (Gator) Levenson, 69, of Carver, MA passed away on November 25, 2023 at MA General Hospital in Boston. Walter was born on January 2, 1954, son of the late David I. and Edith M. Levenson. Walter was a 35 year employee of the Boston Globe in the ITT Technical Division. Walter enjoyed being part of the Cranberry Country Camera Club in Carver, photography, gardening and surfing. Walter is survived by his loving wife Merrie Levenson and beloved Father to Benjamin Levenson of Carbondale, CO and Emily Levenson of Carver. Brother to Howard Rose Levenson of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Rosalie Levenson of Boston. Uncle to Matthew Levenson of Portland, Oregon and the late Nicholas Levenson. Ernest Giangrande

We are sad to announce that Ernest Giangrande, Jr. of Carver, MA passed away on November 22, 2023 with his wife at his side. Ernie was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 24, 1947 to Ernest and Carmela (Pettenato) Giangrande. Following his graduation from Newtown High School in 1964, he joined the United States Navy and served in Viet Nam aboard the USS Cony. After being discharged honorably for his service, Ernie worked as a technician for the phone company in New York City before earning degrees from North Adams State College and Oregon State University. He went on to teach computer science at NASC (now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts) and then Wingate University in North Carolina until his retirement in 2012. Ernie was a kind, gentle and genuine man who was loved deeply by those close to him. Besides his wife Leslie, Ernie is survived by his sister Carol Kelley (Jim) of Dixon, CA and her three children; Leslie's children Liz Phelps (Peter) of Nantucket, MA, Sarah Henry (Joe) of Pembroke, MA, and Adam Tustin (Melody) of New Orleans, LA; and his four grandsons. He is also survived by his mother-in- law (and favorite buddy) Millie Biggs of New Port Richey, FL. Burial will take place in the spring at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Douglas Govoni

Douglas Govoni, 74, passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Douglas was born in 1949 to his parents, the late George and Florence (Baker) Govoni. He is survived by his two loving children; his son Douglas Govoni II and his wife Stefanie Govoni of Kingston as well as his daughter Devon Govoni and her fiance Christopher Collins of Plymouth and of course his granddaughter Vanessa whom he adored. He is also survived by his sister Carol (Govoni) Thomas of Plymouth (preceded in death by the late William Thomas), brother Dennis Govoni and his wife Jeanne Govoni of Dighton, his former wife and longtime friend Janet Hussey of Plymouth and his many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Duxbury, Massachusetts, a young Douglas worked in the Govoni family's construction business during the day and played guitar and sang in various rock bands at night. His travels as young man saw him spend extended amounts of time in Europe and Hawaii before returning home to Massachusetts and starting a family. Douglas worked in construction equipment sales, law enforcement and ran his own masonry company, but he will be remembered far more for who he was than what he did for work. He was a caring father who always put his children first. His mustache was iconic. He was always the life of the party. He had a brilliance and a quick wit that were unrivaled. He was the ultimate storyteller. He loved playing his guitar, Clint Eastwood movies, reading, inventing characters to entertain his kids, and shooting guns. Though he battled serious physical issues for the past sixteen years, he was a man that still showed up for his granddaughter's plays and recitals despite the obstacles he faced doing the simplest of things. Joyce Frost (MacLellan) Leonard of Duxbury, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, on November 18, 2023, at the age of 86. She was the loving mother of Jeff Chandler and his wife Priscilla of Duxbury, Jill Stiles and her husband Tim of Duxbury, Jim Chandler and his wife Becky of Holden, MO, and Heather Schlosser and her husband Troy of Girard, PA. She was also a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren - Beth (Jarod), Ashley (Nathan), Brittany (Dawson), Jonathan (Michelle), Michael (Katrina), Matthew (Tori), Madison, Marcus, and Connor (Audrey). And a great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren - Jaxson, Joyce, Jack, Emma, Gabriel, Carlisle, Lincoln, Landon, Cohen, and number ten on the way. She also leaves behind her twin sister Janice Washburn and her husband Ernie, and her nieces and nephew. She had an unwavering faith in God and cherished her family. She embraced every opportunity to share special moments with her loved ones and felt grateful to have enjoyed a long and happy life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching as well as jigsaw puzzles and gardening. She loved entertaining through her love language: food. She enjoyed going for walks, reading, and watching her beloved Boston sports teams. Joyce was a generous person who was always willing to help anyone she could. As a mom, grammie, great-grammie, and auntie, she will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene, 136 Summer Street, Duxbury, on Saturday, November 25 at 11 am. Edward (Sonny) William Shenett, 87, passed away on November 19, 2023. He is the husband of the late; much loved Beverly Ann (Duquette) Shenett. He was also preceded in death by his son Wayne Shenett and his daughter Corine Shenett. He is survived by his daughter, Tamie (Shenett) Perry and her husband Frank, of pembroke. He was the loving grandfather of Adam Shenett, Alicia Bagni, Jacob Perry, Athena Perry, Marlene Perry, Dustin Shenett, Derek Shenett, Denise Nicoles and Lyn Beaucaire . He is also the great grandfather of Talia Rose Shenett, Hailey Nicoles, Sophia and Phoenix Shenett, Luke and Jordyn Perry, Blake Beaucaire and Anthony James Bagni. He was also survived by his close friends and neighbors, Linda, Joe and Laurie As well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Edward, enjoyed gardening, cooking, golf, horseback riding, dancing and singing. He was also a handyman who could fix anything. He was the janitor at Rockland Public Schools for many years. He was a cowboy at heart. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Queenice A. Stewart Obituary On November 17, 2023, Queenice "Queenie" Anne Stewart was called home to the Lord. She was born March 15, 1932 in Everett, MA to the late Hagop and Takouhy (nee Musserian) Mangerian. Queenie met the love of her life, the late John E. Stewart, at a Protestant church. They were married for 38 years and raised their loving family of 5 children in Melrose MA. Queenie is survived by her children: Richard (Martha), Debra (Dick), Kenneth (Susan), William (Sheryl), and David; grandchildren: Alex (Melissa), Patrick (Kayla), Jack, Matthew, Katie, Caroline, Nicholas (Maria), Timothy, Dana (Bryce), Justin, Mike (Laura), and Kelly (Chris); great-grandchildren: Ava, Romeo, Emmett, Felix, Maya, Ethan, Jack, Emma, Alex, and Sami. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Queenie was the tenth of eleven children predeceased by George, Irene, Sarah, Mary, Arpeen, Hemanyag "Humo", Elizabeth "Honey", Dikran "Richard", Haik, and Berge. Queenie's parents Hagop and Takouhy were survivors of the Armenian Genocide. They arrived via circuitous routes to America after having escaped, then met and married in Boston. Queenie always said that it was great growing up in a large family, and that it was like being in "Grand Central Station" every day. Her father owned a small grocery store on Main St in Everett during the Great Depression. When she was old enough, she would visit his store and observe the people coming and going. She enjoyed listening to business conversations and other more personal conversations while reading a good comic book. She always said that observing people at the store was a great education. Queenie was involved in many of the programs at the First Congregational Church in Melrose. She was always active in many of her kids' activities, including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Demolay. When the grandkids came along, Queenie just loved being a Nana and enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. She never forgot anyone's birthday and you could be sure to receive a card and a check with the word 'Wow!' as she would reference your age. Queenie had a positive outlook on life and in her later years would recall the many vacations we had as a family and the trips she took with her husband John. In her conversations with people she would always say 'I've been blessed, I've lived a good life'. Her family and friends will miss her shining spirit. Sevices for Queenice will be held at the Shepherd funeral Home on Monday, November 27th from 10 to 12 Followed by a burial at the Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.Show more
