Freddie Lee Rogers of Camden, AR died June 8, 2022. Freddie was born July 25, 1935 on the Goad Farm in Troy, AR, the only son of Fred E. and Bernie Lee Rogers. In December of 1987 he married Jeanelle Harper Lester. Freddie worked for International Paper Company for 42 years. Freddie was an avid sportsman. He was a charter member of the B & T Hunting Club. Freddie, however, was a most passionate squirrel hunter. He often spent hours in the woods with many of his beloved dogs, one being Ole Brownie. He also loved getting in his deer stand and later returning to the deer camp loaded down with his buck. Most of all, he loved sitting around the campfire, drinking coffee, telling his stories, laughing and teasing the other members of the camp. Freddie totally loved the woods and wood conservation. In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his wife Jeanelle and stepsons Clifford Lester and Barry Lester. Freddie is survived by a step son, Gary Lester (Misty); a step daughter, Dedra Harcrow (David); seven step grandchildren, Heather Harcrow, Drucilla Lester, Jessica Hardage, Josie Lester, Jayme Lester, Justin Lester and Matthew Lester; a sister, Mollie Merritt of Troy, AR; a niece, Suanne Jeffus (Richard) of Troy, AR; a great nephew, Josh Jeffus (Angela) of Camden, AR; a great niece, Keely Hall (Paul) of Troy, AR; seven great great nephews, Luke Jeffus, Grant Jeffus, Jack Clifton Jeffus, Carson McKinney, Benjamin McKinney, Collins McKinney and Zachary McKinney. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Services will be 2:00 Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Proctor Funeral Home followed by interment at Riddick Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p. m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to the Riddick Cemetery Fund, 3105 Hwy 57, Camden, AR 71701.
