Virginia (Ginnie) Mae Montoya, 82, went home to be with Jesus on November 24, 2023, after a courageous battle Ginnie was born to Bowen and Dorothy (Leonard) Finfrock on October 19, 1941, in Bloomington, Illinois. She grew up in Chicago with her four brothers and twin sister and was a 1959 graduate of Harper High. She held various jobs in the Chicago area before moving to California. In 1990 Ginnie moved from Chicago, Illinois to Quartz Hill, California to be with her twin sister Georgia, who was battling breast cancer. She was employed with the Antelope Valley Union High School District and worked at Quartz Hill H. S. and Lancaster H. S. in the Guidance Office, where she made several longtime friends. Ginnie remained in California after Georgia passed away and continued to establish a life in sunny California. She worked as a medical biller and eventually created her own successful medical billing company. Ginnie loved bowling and eventually joined a bowling league. It was there that she met the love of her life, Richard, who also had a passion for bowling. It was a match truly made in heaven. They married a year later, on December 30, 1995. Ginnie and Richard made many trips to Las Vegas to celebrate birthdays and holidays with family. Although it was also an excuse to test her luck on penny slots or bingo. Ginnie was a dedicated, supportive mother, a doting grandmother, the family cheerleader, and our biggest supporter. She LOVED pictures and was the family photographer, always ready with her camera to seize the moment. She cherished every memory and was determined to capture it whether you were ready or not. She was the glue that kept our family connected. Ginnie faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity and made an impact on many lives. She will always be remembered for her loving, honest and compassionate heart. Throughout her life she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a source of inspiration to us all and will be forever missed by those whose lives she touched. She was our rock, the hole left by her absence is impossible to Fill. Ginne was an active member of The Road Church in Quartz Hill and volunteered in various activities including the nursery, as well as packaging and delivering meals to Mayflower Gardens.
