"Ms. Freda Susie Puckett age 61 of Gadsden, AL formerly of Section passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 2PM in Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Dillion officiating. Rainsville - Shirley Ann (Brown) Barton, 81, Rainsville, passed away in the Cumberland Pointe Health Campus, West Lafayette, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 12:17 p. m. Shirley was born on January 27, 1942 to the late John S. and Dorothy (Wilkerson) Brown. She was raised in Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School. She has resided in Rainsville for the past 25 years. Shirley formerly worked at General Foods in Lafayette. She later became employed with Purdue University, working in Housekeeping. During the same time she also worked at Big Lots in Lafayette. She retired from Purdue University. Shirley was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Attica. She also enjoyed sewing, ceramics, flower gardening and watching the birds. On October 25, 1998, Shirley married Paul E. Barton in Attica. She leaves behind her husband Paul of 25 years along with three children, Tony (Cecelia) Tarter, Indianapolis; Kim (Cliff) Reid, Lafayette and Tim (Cathy) Tarter, Frankfort; two step children, Wyatt (Cathy) Barton, Tampa, FL and Matthew (Susan) Barton, Rainsville; two brothers, John Brown, Lafayette and David L. Brown, Kokomo; several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carole Lockwood and a brother, Larry Brown. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica on Monday, December 4th, from 12:00 p. m. until the service time at 2:00 p. m. with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating.
