Mary Anne Green, 69, of Adrian, Missouri, passed away on November 12, 2023 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions to be made to the church of their choice. Mary Anne was born on Friday, the 13th of September, 1954 and considered every Friday the 13th thereafter as her lucky day. She was the third child of W. K. and Earlene (Robinson) Jenkins. She was blonde hair and blue eyed and was the first girl born in the Jenkins family in nearly 41 years. She was doted on by her extended family but most especially by her 7 and 8 year old brothers, Karl and Bob. She joyously embraced the role of big sister as three more children were born into the family and she mothered, taught and bossed them all well into adulthood. She attended grade school at Crescent Hill until sixth grade when they consolidated, then graduated from Adrian High School in 1972, and then the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1976. She was organized and precise and with an iron work ethic forged from a farm background there was no job too big or too difficult for her to conquer. The bulk of her career was spent in residential mortgage lending where she made many lifelong friends. She married Steven Green on March 12, 1983 and they had a son, Matthew. She enjoyed her pets, bird watching, gardening, cooking, reading, good rock and roll music, and competing to make the best dessert at family dinners. She made elaborate plates of Christmas candy for her loved ones and always sent cards for every occasion. She loved her family deeply and was proud to be the family historian. Mary Anne is preceded in death by her parents; her sister-in-law, Barbara Jenkins; her nephew, Alex Jenkins; her brother-in-law, Trent Wilson; and her brother, Bob Jenkins. She is survived by her husband, Steve, of the home; her son, Matthew, and his wife, Katie, of Nashville, TN; and her siblings. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.Show more
