She married Phil Walker in 1991 and they later divorced. She then met her life partner, Keith Schroyer and he survives.Also surviving are three children, Ashley (Tommy) Walker, Findlay, Dustin Walker, Fostoria and Crystal (Stephen) Walker, Fostoria; five grandchildren, Justin “JJ” Muzy Jr., Cameron Muzy, Derek Leimgruber, Sabrina “Bieana” Leimgruber and Isabella “BooBoo” Walker; two brothers, James “Jim” (Helaina) Gregory, Findlay and Joe (Sue) Roberts, Richland, Washington; four nephews; one niece; and eleven great nieces and nephews. Krista Sue Smith, age 71, of Fostoria, OH, formerly of Council Bluffs and Crescent, IA, passed away at her home on February 5, 2024. Kris was born May 29, 1952 in Council Bluffs to the late John J. and Helen Faye (Kelley) Walker. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1970; earned her B.S. Degree in Education from UNO in 1972 and her Nursing Degree from Creighton University. Kris married Irvin “Butch” Smith on August 18, 1974 in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with three children, Robert, John, and Amy. Kris was an RN at St. Joseph Hospital/Creighton Medical Center for many years until moving to Fostoria 8 years ago. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church; Job’s Daughters; Order of Eastern Star; sustaining member of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; and former director of Epochs Bethel #33. Kris is survived by her husband of 49 years, Irvin “Butch” Smith of Fostoria; sons, Robert (Stacy) Smith of Tulsa, OK, John Smith of Fostoria, daughter, Amy Smith of Carter Lake, IA; 8 grandchildren; brother, Matthew (Lori) Walker of Council Bluffs. Visitation with the family, Monday, 6-8 p.m. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery with a lunch following at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St. The family will direct memorial contributions.

Donald G. Knaur, 77, of Fostoria passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born December 5, 1946 in Marion, OH to John “Jack” W. Knaur and Margaret Maclean (Lingo) Knaur. On December 2, 2000 he married Karen Coker of Fostoria, OH.He is survived by his son, Jonathan P. (Laura) Knaur and three step grandsons, Bennett, Jude and Roman, of Worthington, OH and a daughter Rebecca Knaur of Champaign-Urbana, IL; his sister Christine Hill, Port St. Lucie, FL and his niece, Sarah Burgess and four grandnieces and one grandnephew; his aunt Judy Davidson, Broken Arrow, OK; and his stepmother, Carol Knaur, Winter Park, FL. He is also survived by his first wife, Peggy (Patrick) Fout, Upper Sandusky, OH.He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Gretchen, his brother-in-law David Hill, and his daughter-in-law Jennifer (Zambito) Knaur and one grandchild.Don grew up in LaRue, OH. He graduated from Elgin High School, Class of 1964, one of the first graduating classes of that school. He attended Ohio Wesleyan, OSU – Marion branch and graduated with an associate degree in computer science from Tiffin University.Don had several jobs as a young man, but one he was definitely proud of was overseeing the design and building of numerous large pole buildings in Northwest Ohio. He was a top salesman and manager of two Wickes Bldgs. He was owner of Tiffin’s Help-Desk Ohio computer service business.His love of community service led him to Tiffin Jaycees where he served as president, Fostoria and Tiffin’s Lion Club and Tiffin and Fostoria’s Kiwanis. Serving his church was another way of giving back to the community and he had been a member of Ebenezer, now Faith United Methodist Church of Tiffin and Fostoria’s First Presbyterian Church.Don had chosen to be cremated and there will be no services. Harrold Floriana Funeral Home of Fostoria is assisting the family.
