It is with tremendous sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of Frank Russo, of Carmel, NY age 74 on October 3, 2023. Born in Ponza, Italy on October 12, 1948, the 3rd of four Children to the late Gemma and Pompeo Russo. At the age of 18, he and his family migrated to New York. Frank then went on to marry the love of his life, Maria Cristo, on May 15,1971, at Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx. They chose to settle in the Bronx where they started a family, but in 1992 they decided on relocating from the Bronx to Carmel, NY. Together, they were blessed with three wonderful children and 4 grandchildren. Frank has had many jobs throughout his life before coming to the U. S, he was a fisherman in Ponza, Italy. Once in the states he was in the Carpenters Union for 10 years, then serving an additional 32 Years as a Master Carpenter, foreman and iron worker for Metro North. Frank was extremely skilled and proud of his workmanship, He helped to construct the development of the Metro North Railroad. During his free time, he enjoyed landscaping, fishing, reading, listening to all genres of Italian music and with his skilled expertise constructed many projects around the house. Most of all Frank enjoyed spending time with his family. Frank leaves behind his loving wife Maria, his cherished children Gemma (Al), Jackie (Louie) and John; sister Egidia Sandolo, predeceased by his brother Jack Russo and sister Miranda Sandolo, his precious four grandchildren, Nicolette, Alyssa, Gabriella and Anthony; as well as numerous nieces nephews, great - nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

He was born on September 24, 1951, in Yonkers, NY to Angelo and Francesca Marcello, who predeceased him. Dominick grew up in Yonkers and was a proud Roosevelt High School athlete who passed his love for sports onto his sons and grandchildren. He always found the time to be the coach for his son's teams as they grew up. Anyone who knew Dominick, knew nothing meant more to him than his family. He worked tirelessly for his family and always put the health and happiness of others before himself. He made sure to keep family together and continue the values and traditions his parents instilled. Dominick worked for Metro North and was a dedicated Supervisor of the Third Rail; he retired in 2011. His next job was being Papa for his grandchildren where he would drive them to school each day, babysit, and attend all their sporting events. Dominick is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Denise "DJ", and their three sons, Anthony (Jennifer), Joseph (Danielle), and Vincent (Maureen). He is the beloved Papa of his seven grandchildren, Sophia, Nicholas, AJ, Olivia, Joseph, Vincent, and Alessia Marcello. Dominick is also survived by his siblings Nicholas (Barbara), Anna (Charles) Nola, and Marianne (Al) Couto and his nieces and nephews. Dominick was so loved by all that were lucky to know him. Renato Rosignoli was born on April 8, 1932 to Carlo and Francesca (Barbanera) Rosignoli in New York City. He was dear brother of the late Theresa Scatola and the late Marcella Cancro. He obtained his B. B. A. at Bernard M. Baruch College in New York City. He served in the U. S. Army. During his service, he was stationed in South Korea and Japan, and was honorably discharged on July 31, 1962. They resided in New York City until 1977, when they moved to White Plains, New York, where he resided for the rest of his life. They were blessed with three children; Carlo, Renee, and David. He worked in offices at Mitsubishi Corporation, Pfizer Inc. , and elsewhere. Renato is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Marcella, his three loving children; Carlo, Renee, and David (Corinne) and three cherished grandchildren; Rebecca, Aeryn, and Elora. Theresa M. Balascio, 80, of Carmel, NY, passed away on November 7, 2023. She was born on June 1, 1943, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Samuel and Lucille Scala. In 1963 she married her childhood sweetheart Pat and they were happily married for 60 years. They raised two beautiful daughters together. Theresa was a compassionate, loving, and dedicated individual. She had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand. Theresa's family meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She is survived by her beloved husband, Pat, and her daughters Catherine Santini (Angelo) and Lucille Pereira (Jack). Theresa also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Christina, Brandon, Christopher, Diana, and Stephanie, as well as her sister Adeline Bocker (Albert) and nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Alissa Santini. Theresa attended Theodore Roosevelt High School and later pursued a career in billing for the Coleman School and Gerard Daniel. She was known for her attention to detail and dedication in her work. Theresa found solace in her faith and prayed every day. In her free time, Theresa enjoyed making crossword puzzles, watching Blue Bloods, and most importantly, spending time with her family. Services for Theresa will be held at Sinatra Memorial Home, located at 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY. Services will be held on Saturday November 11th and Sunday November 12th from 2-6pm. The funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church 670 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY on Monday, November 13th at 10:30am. Joseph Kern, 95, of Carmel, NY passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ. He is survived by two daughters, Eileen Lewis (Jim) and Susan Grenier (Denis); one son, Joseph Kern Jr; four grandchildren, Matthew Grenier, David Grenier, Justine King (Zach) and Julia Kern; and two great-grandchildren, James and Logan King. He is predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Mary Kern. Joseph was born on August 5, 1928 on Manhattan's Upper East Side. He and Mary met while they were working in a Grand Union warehouse. They eventually married in the Kern family home in Fort Lee in 1957. Joe and Mary moved to Passaic, NJ where they started their family, first welcoming Eileen, followed by Sue and son Joey. In the summers, they vacationed at a beach bungalow in Hampton Bays, Long Island. In 1962, Joe and Mary moved to Kelly Ridge in Carmel, NY to raise their kids while Joe worked at IBM. They joined St James Apostle Church, ran an after-school roller skating program at the high school, and became regulars at the Carmel Diner. An Army Veteran in the Korean War, Joe proudly served as Chaplin for the local VFW. In his spare time, Joe was likely found in his vegetable garden, rooting for the NY Giants, or grilling and tending bar for guests. Over the years, Joe and Mary hosted many family holidays and summer barbecues; they loved sharing their garden, swimming pool, and tree swing with their grandkids and neighbors. After his retirement, Joe and Mary had many opportunities to travel the world for leisure and visit their children. Their travels include Hawaii, Japan, Sweden, Thailand, Hong Kong and the UK. Aruba and Gloucester, MA were their favorite spots. Everywhere they went they enjoyed finding new restaurants to try. In 2018, Joe and Mary moved out of their wonderful home of 56 years to be closer to family in Millville, NJ. They quickly found their new diner. Joes family wishes to thank his friends and neighbors in the community for being such a fulfilling part of his life. He was a devoted husband and father, a goofball grandfather and a good friend and neighbor. He will be loved and missed for years to come. Services are private. Richard 'Dick' Herity, loving husband, father, grandfather and longtime resident of Somers NY, and more recently Carmel, New York, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born in Manhattan, New York on May 10, 1933, to Mary Herity (nee Fahey) and Richard Herity , both Irish immigrants. He was an outstanding student and after high school enlisted in the United States Navy and served as Aerographer mate second class on board the USS Bennington, an aircraft carrier. DIck was on board the Bennington in May, 1954, when it experienced a series of explosions as it steamed off the Atlantic coast for carrier qualifications. The explosions killed over 100 men and seriously injured over 100 others. Dick survived the explosions but was left with a searing memory. The friendships Dick forged with his shipmates were lifelong and he would regularly attend reunions of the surviving members of the Bennington. After being honorably discharged from the United States Navy, he joined the New York City Police Department where he worked for 29 years, rising to the rank of Sergeant Detective. Going to school at night, Dick would go on to earn a bachelor's degree from Fordham University in New York graduating Magna Cum Laude and would also receive a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Long Island University. Dick married the love of his life, Kathryn 'Joan' Herity on February 23, 1963,at Visitation Catholic Church in the Bronx and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Together they had six children and ten grandchildren. Dick was a devout Catholic having most recently been a parishioner of St. Joseph's Parish in Somers. Upon retirement, Dick and Joan traveled with friends and family across the US in a motor home visiting the 48 contiguous states. They shared a love of history and exploring new areas. They were also avid game players and loved to play Scrabble, Rummikub and card games. Dick also enjoyed woodworking and was always making beautiful pieces for his family to enjoy. He would often be found out in his workshop working with his tools and starting new projects. Retirement also included Florida, where he and Joan enjoyed escaping the cold New York winters and where they established new life long friends. Dick also enjoyed genealogy and tracing his ancestors back hundreds of years. He was very proud of his Irish Heritage and could talk for hours about Irish history. Dick is survived by his six children: Kathy Bennett, Mary Leonard (Mike), Deirdre Weirzbicki (Rick), Michael Herity (Salin), Eileen Greenlees (Gary) and Joanie Plutzker, and nine grandchildren: Jaclyn Halk, Stephen Greenlees, Sean Bennett, Bridgett Leonard, Thomas Greenlees, Kayleigh Plutzker, Maggie Greenlees, Joseph Herity and Luke Greenlees. He is predeceased by his wife, Kathryn 'Joan' Herity and his grandson, Liam Bennett.
