She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudolph Sontag; her son, Arthur Sontag; her sisters, Bessie McGaffey, Christine Brown, Geraldine Marsh; and her brothers, Morris and Wilson Chandler. She is survived by her sons, Leon Sontag, Kenneth Sontag and his wife Elaine; her grandchildren Angela and her husband Robert Wilson, Leon Sontag Jr.,Lee Cardenas and husband Bradley, and Katie Nelson; her great grandchildren, Morgan, Hagan (Alan), Robert Majeski, Sergio Sontag (Hilliem), Krista Kersey (Jason), Ashlyn and Kylee Nelson, Quinton and Kingston Cardenas; her great-great grandchildren: Amelia, Alice, Trent, Hunter, Aliana, Leilani, and Keanu. She will also be greatly missed by her sister Francis Beard. Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend. Thelma had a love of sewing, crocheting, and crafting. She was also an avid Houston Spirts fan, cheering on all of the Houston teams - the Astros, Texans and Rockets. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitations on Monday February 12 from 6 to 8 pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Road, Highlands Texas. The graveside service will be the next day at 11:30 at Sterling-White Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Rudy.

Born on November 7, 1951, in Ripley, NY, Joyce's life was a tapestry of joy, humor, and generosity that touched the hearts of all who knew her.Joyce's early years in Ripley were filled with the love and guidance of her parents, David and Edith Shafer, who preceded her in death. Her journey led her to the arms of her beloved husband, B. G. O'Neal, with whom she shared 22 years of marriage before his passing. Together, they built a life rich in laughter and mutual support.Joyce is survived by her son, Jerry Frankson; her siblings, Shirley Glover, Phyllis Reid, and Frank Shafer and two grandchildren, who will miss her deeply. Joyce will be remembered fondly by the numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, who were blessed to know her loving spirit.Joyce's sense of humor was legendary; she had an uncanny ability to find the funny in the everyday and could light up a room with her wit. Her kindness was boundless, and she was always the first to offer help, no matter the need. James worked for BP Refinery as an operator for 33 years until retirement in October 2005. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Porter, TX with Brother Rob Ray as the pastor. He belonged to VFW American Legion. His passions were church and serving God. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Cheryl Lanning; 4 children, Stacy (Ronnie) Brooke of Cleveland, Missouri, Wayne (Michelle) Lanning of Alvin, TX, Eric (Susan) Lanning of Baytown, TX, Lance (Denise) Lanning of Baytown, TX; 18 Grandchildren; 33 Great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was born to Lester and Bernice Lanning of Missouri. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Dorothy Cramer, one brother, Bill Lanning, and one grandchild. In loving memory of Sharon Denise McCain, age 66, of Crosby, Texas, who passed away on January 5, 2024, at her residence. Born on April 11, 1957, in Havana, Cuba, she was the proud daughter of Steve Benjamin and Virgilee Faltysek Ward. Sharon's remarkable journey included graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas, with the class of 1975, followed by over 20 years of dedicated service in the United States Navy. Her naval career allowed her to explore various places and cultures, creating a tapestry of exciting stories. After retiring from the Navy, Sharon worked on the West Coast for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle before settling in San Diego, California. Returning to Texas to be close to family, she began working for Anheuser-Busch in Houston. Devoted to her faith, Sharon was an active member of Crosby Church in Crosby, Texas, leading a grief class and Wednesday morning women’s Bible study. She enjoyed camping, vacationing, and family trips to SeaWorld and Busch Gardens. An antiques enthusiast, Sharon had a small shop, displaying her love for collecting and selling unique items. Her five Dachshunds held a special place in her heart, and she found solace crafting and sewing over the years. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Virgil Brent Ward and Benjamin Murray Ward. She is survived by her brotherSteve Ward and wife Melinda of Dayton, Texas; her sister Deana Ward of Beaverton, Oregon. Her legacy continues through her nieces and nephew Bethany Ward, Marcie Beamer, and Dusty Ward; and her great-nieces and nephews Bryant, Makenna, Rylie Kay, Cami, and Jake; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends, A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at 2pm, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Crosby Church, 5725 US 90 in Crosby, Texas.
