Henry Peter Engo Sr. fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Born on November 21, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York. Hank a beloved father, dedicated truck driver, and cherished member of the community in Long Island New York, passed away, at the age of 86. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Henry lived a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to his family. Henry's journey began in Brooklyn where he grew up and developed his strong work ethic. Despite only receiving an eighth-grade education, he proved his resilience and determination throughout his life. Preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Engo, brother Peter Engo and his two children Joseph Arthur and Adam George. Henry devoted himself to his profession, spending time with his loved ones and his Catholic Faith. Hank always made the most of his time with his children. His commitment to those he held dear was unwavering, and he played an integral role in their lives. Henry leaves behind a deeply saddened daughter, Lydia Donahue, sons Henry (Renee) Engo Jr. , Fr. David Mary Engo, Brian Engo, and Dennis (Leslie) Engo who will forever cherish the countless memories they shared with their father. Grandfather of Angela, Anthony (Giselle), Daniel (Keri), Katie, Fr. Mathew, Sr. M. Elizabeth Grace FSGM, Meghan, Clare, Mary, Ryan, Eliana, Lorelai, Isabella, Liam, Stellina and great-grandfather of Benjamin. Survived by his sister, Marie (Benny) Bednarik, and beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Henry's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His warm Brooklyn smile, kind heart, and amusing quips, made him a beloved figure in the community. He had an innate ability to speak the truth and not be silent and make everyone feel valued and supported, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to cross his path. Friends and family will meet Monday, December 4, from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM for Visitation, with the Celebration of Mass 10:00 AM at Mother of Good Counsel Nursing Home 6825 Natural Bridge Rd. St. Louis, MO 63121. Interment will follow 12:00 PM Noon at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Alton IL.
